I'm putting the dressing in the oven in a few minutes. I'm going to be brave and roast the turkey breast in the Ninja.

we're not having a huge, fancy meal but it's gonna be good (I hope).

everyone here is on my list of gratitudes.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all.

Hi Everyone

We had our Thanksgiving dinner about 2 pm.  Everything was really good and of course we ate too much.  Just had a piece of pumpkin pie.  @viva923  Seasoned our turkey similar to yours with oranges, lemons and fresh herbs such as thyme and rosemary.  Nice and moist. I have never tried using an apple, it sure sounded good.  The dogs had a little turkey and gravy and of course a tiny silver of pumpkin pie.  I told them last night it was turkey day today. and they were ready.  lol.  It is a little cool here today.  We got some rain and supposedly we will be getting some more.   I'm going to put my pajamas one in just a few minutes and kick back.  Smiley Happy

Whew! A busy day here. The chicken with the fresh rosemary beneath the skin, rubbed sage & salt & pepper inside the cavity with garlic powder and lemon juice sprinkled over the outside of the chicken  & with 2 pricked lemons in the cavity was delicious with the vegetable gravy I made.

The bourbon orange cranberry sauce was wonderful -- it wasn't as sweet as when you make the cranberry sauce from the bag & it added nuance with the added bourbon.

@SleeplessinSD  My DIL made a butter crust & used a NYT recipe -- brandied pumpkin pie with chestnut paste as the layer between the pumpkin purée & the crust. She made her own chestnut paste.

Our Grandson had a ball playing with his Dad's & Uncles' Brio trains.

Didn't go anywhere for Thanksgiving because I had my booster yesterday and figured no one would be wearing masks. DH went to his family's meal and confirmed that fact. We'll have our big meal tomorrow. All the food that has been mentioned out here sounded great.

So, DD and I set out yesterday for the "Van Gogh Immersive Exhibit"!
My first time driving to downtown Pittsburgh! Through bridges and tunnels! YAY🎉

We arrived and guess what?
The exhibit was DOWN!

No problem!

It was a beautiful day to walk...crisp and cold!

We went to a place called "Conado" tacos...

YUM!
My craving for Mexican food was satisfied... and hers too!

Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

hi all.

it's been a lazy day, just doing miscellaneous things around the house.

I'm going to DD's tomorrow for a couple of days. can't wait to see my little sweetheart again.

it's 4:13 as I type this and already beginning to get dark.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, even if it was a quiet one like we had.

sending blessings to all.

here's a Yazoo City sunset.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.

@viva923, your post gave me a little giggle ( laughing at myself, not at you).

I'm rarely in bed before midnight, then after tossing and turning I'm often back up between 1 and 3am, then usually sleep until 10.

I've always preferred to stay up late, but insomnia has made me worse of a night owl than I would like to be.

oh well, I don't imagine I'll ever change.
