I decided to give 2 more mascaras a try.
The first is the Covergirl Lashblast Clean volume mascara. It has the rubberized wand which I'm never a fan of but it's getting harder and harder to find the traditional wands.
Upon first application, I really thought this was a dud. However, it really builds up nicely. It takes a couple of coats to get my lashes where I want them. This provides really nice volume. It doesn't flake or smudge and it's easy to remove. However, something about this bothers my eyes. If I wear it 2 days in a row, my eyes get goopy and watery.
The second mascara is the over hyped Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara. Again this has the rubberized wand which is also really long, bendy and flexible. The tube itself is pretty, if that matters. LOL This mascara is also easy to remove. My issue is that while it does provide length, it doesn't provide any volume which is what I need. My lashes looked too separated, almost spidery, but they did have a lot of length. Again, there was no clumping, no smudging and no flaking.
I'd like the volume of the Lashblast Clean and the length of the Sky High, minus the eye goop problem, and that would be a winning combination.

Thank you for your opinion of the Maybelline Sky High, I had it on my list to try, but just crossed it off!

@KingstonsMom , people love this stuff. I'm thinking if one just needs length it would be good. I want length and volume. That's one reason I don't like the Thrive mascara. It gives good length but it's not volumizing.

I finally tried a drugstore brand that gives volume, separates the lashes, lengthens, no flaking and comes off easily with soap and water.
Lash Paradise....took Shanus's advice when removing the wand from the tube. Twist wand while it is in the full down position, rather than at the mouth of the tube: less clumping on the brush. It works !

@jlkz Glad you like the mascara and my tip. I also use L'Oreal Voluminous. If you want even less chance of clumps, gently wipe the wand on a tissue before application.

I need volume too.
Who makes the Lash Paradise?

@KingstonsMom L'Oreal makes both Lash Paradise (a more natural look, to me) and Voluminous...more volume as the name implies.

Thank you!

I guess false lashes are out of the question? I have never looked back! The mascara I used to use for volume Is Benefit "They're Real". I would start out with a Loreal lengthening mascara and then use the Benefit for volume. Still use it for my bottom lashes.
