Handling is one of those "catch all" words to encompass whatever they deem necessary. It is no longer used by most other retailers, as HD mentioned, but QVC makes such a profit on their s&h fees that I doubt they will ever stop using it.
The multiple items shipping in one box sounds like their way of continuing to make absurd profits since they reduced shipping fees. They must think their customers are too dim witted to either notice or care. Personally, I would call and make a complaint. The purpose of reduced shopping fees was, in theory anyway, "supposed" to benefit their customers (tho we all recognize that is a joke based on all the other changes that also took place)
I'm guessing that a call to CS would result in the word "handling" being a big part of their prepared response.

Thanks so much, Crisso - as a former English teacher, it always makes me smile when someone knows, and doesn't hesitate to post, the accurate spelling of a word.
Thanks to HD as well for doing the same. It often makes me really sad to observe how little so many care these days if they spell correctly or not. Often when I read reviews or the like, it amazes me that even using spell check seems to require too much effort.
I have been known to pull out my old, and well used, Webster's dictionary to check on an obscure or rare word if I am not 100% sure of a letter or letters in it - spelling was one subject I excelled in in school, mostly due to just really enjoying it.

I notice misspelling, especially in a Post Title, but pass it off as someone was just in a hurry and a typo does and can happen.

Well said Kachina.

I agree... Who cares, and then to go on about it. I am also a retired 5th grade teacher and I don't go around correcting people. Something about correcting others has always bothered me especially if it's done in a way that "calls them out".

Exact same thing happened to me. Really irritating.
