Well, now I've heard it all! JM, while selling her whipped body cream, was saying it takes 14 years to grow these special trees/beans. So, how is she coming up w/ so many new argan products and in such a huge quantity to fill orders for her site, Q, Sephora and so many other retailers? Really?!?!

@Shanus   Who knows?  Old trees that live for hundreds of years??

More likely, like almost every cosmetic or even medicine we buy, the amount of product we see has nothing to do with the amount of the ingredients we see.   Look at the long list of ingredients in some products and you know it's like people on Long Island used to say about the omnipresent clam chowder at our Greek diners --  "They just passed a clam over the soup pot."

  I like the feel of Josie's whipped body butter, but I suspect I'm buying air more than argon.

Not a specialist in argan, but I read that the nuts can be harvested after 5 years.

Re: 14 YEARS TO GROW, JM?

JM is one of the most shameless over-hypers on QVC. Several of her claims (specifically, about scientifically developed "special molecules" that penetrate into deeper layers of the skin) border on outright falsehoods. But money talks, and QVC indulges her every step of the way.  I say this as someone who likes and buys some of her products -- not beause I believe a word of her snake-oil sales pitches, but simply because I like their scent or feel.

I don't believe she actually has a particle accelerator to make those molecules. In which layer of the skin is the root located?

I know, right! I'm argon oiled out. I've heard the same story a million times.

My skin is enhanced with argan oil.

I researched the harvesting of it and appreciate the people who spend so much time on the tedious harvest.

It is a favorite gift to give to others.

{Caller just now shared that a group of Marines wrote to thank her and said that their favorite gift was Josie's body butter, "Please send more!"}

I know you realize that thousands of us enjoy the presentations and benefit from the products.
