12-year-old just beginning to have break-outs - suggestions please?

My 12-year-old granddaughter is starting to break out on her face and I was wondering what product line to give as a gift to get her started with a good skin care regimen. Is ProActive too strong? Philosophy seems to target aging skin (although I think Purity is a great cleanser). I'm lost. Wondering if I should look into a drug store brand. I want her to have clear skin - I'm afraid she got her father's skin, as he broke out quite a bit as a teenager. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance.
