Had a bad time at a place but will not mention the name. They do advertise how clean they are. It was filthy! My knife was dirty and asked for a clean one. Someone actually asked if I was the one who wanted a clean knife! Called twice and haven't gotten any satisfaction. I will keep shortening the amount of time between calls until I get satis faction.

Tables were also not clean and I was served soup in a bowl that had a VERY Large amount of  pottery out of it( 1/4 inch across and 2-3 inches down). All I want is my money back.

If that were me, I would've addressed it with the manager while I was there and before I paid, they probably would've comped your meal.

'Calling' them after the fact, makes it too easy to just ignore you.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Try posting on their FB page, if they have one, that always gets their attention.

Did you eat the food?  If I was in a restaurant that dirty I certainly would not have.

As Judge Judy frequently says if you ate the steak then you have to pay for it.  Some of the things described would have been visible before placing an order, and certainly any issues related to the food or the dinnerware should have been addressed with the manager immediately.  A restaurant doesn't issue refunds on consumed meals.  You accepted the conditions of the establishment by ordering and paying the bill.

@Group 5 minus 1, Please don't think I have no empathy for the situation you encountered at this restaurant.  My statements are only my opinion based on how service and hospitality businesses generally handle customer service.  They may offer you a gift card for a complimentary meal, but that is probably the best apology they will come up with.

I'm sorry that happened. I would recommend writing a review on Yelp about your experience to warn others.

And if you should ever find yourself in such a situation again, ask to speak to a manager the minute you notice a broken bowl. They should comp your meal at that time. Once you pay and walk out, it's she said-he said and you will likely not get your money back.

I doubt you will get your money back after the fact.  Why didn't you raise the issue while you were there?  They would have had an opportunity to bring you another meal or comp your check.

Which restaurant was it?  A well known chain?

Find them online and post a review. Then let your money do the talking for you and don't ever go there again.

If it is a chain or has any sort of 'contact' for e-mailing the corporate office use that  and give all  of the info on your reciept + store # address , time there. Also if you have eaten there previously and enjoyed it lead with that ,what a disappointment your visit was , and detail why.

Why didn't you walk out when you saw it wasn't clean? I would have never bothered to order, but would leave immediately
