Thanks for checking in.  As you can imagine, it's a nightmare.  We had about 10 hours spread over a four day work week last week to prep everything- unpack classroom, check rosters, move desks/chairs, hang posters, design seating charts, get 504s/IEPs, inventory textbooks, create online Google Classroom, make copies, etc. because of our mandatory trainings.  We were off on Friday, but I couldn't go to school because they were painting, and then I got sick.

Tues. was the first day with students, so everyone has been e-mailing/texting all day long with questions about where to find x, y, z.  It's just as exhausting as going to work, but what can you do?

@lolakimono,I know, bless you.  I'd come take your classes if I could.  I had much the same thing when we lost Josh, our ninteen yr old a month after Christmas, fourteen years ago, (feels like yesterday), but it was part of what kept me connected.  At least I had started the semester.

@lolakimono Lola I hope that you are just working hard on recovery. Please let others get the back to school work done while you do the recovery job at home.Relax and take it easy until the doc says you are healed.

(((@lolakimono))).   I didn't know about your emergency appendectomy.    Clearly you're an indispensable  member of the school team -- you're an essential!    Please don't overdo -- you're "precious cargo" wherever you go, and you need to rest and recuperate.    I'm praying for you, for a speedy recovery!❤️

@ECBG, What a love you are to start this kind thread.   You're the best!❤️    We can always count on you to think of others.

(((hugs))) to you both!

@lolakimono So glad you are better! I hope you can find a way to continue recovering well.  I honestly can't imagine teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade kids! Bless you. Before my career change, I taught college students and I thought that was tough! Ha. I'm sure your job is much harder. Take care!
