the city of salt lake doesn't care about the homeless.  they are clsoing the shelter because the property has become too trendy and the rich investors wanted them gone.  so they closed it and now the homeless are moving into other neighborhoods.

it is so sad.  they claim they are helping but it is just a fancy pr ploy

I was grossed out years ago in Salt Lake City when I watched from our hotel room as homeless men shaved in the public drinking fountains every morning about 6:30! Ewww. Otherwise, the City was spotless. We've returned many times, but we avoid that side of the hotels. I don't want to watch them! And, the panhandling is terrible there. I'd never seen panhandling before. WOW. Lovely City, but apparently lots of problems. We've had no problems taking walks around the residential areas, but downtown is another story.

Money screams; wealth whispers.
