Hello again, ladies and a good Wed to all! The weather has been nice, sunny and mild here. Everything is blooming or budding out. Lots of pollen in the air- you can see and smell it. I'm fortunately not allergic, but I see many red noses.

Yesterday Gert and I went shoe shopping at The Walking Company, that was so highly recommended to me by a kind poster here. We both needed something a little dressy- dressy enough for church, funerals, etc. The young lady who helped me the last time, I learned is out on maternity leave. That made me smile! She's sure to be a good, attentive mother- bless her and her little family. I got a nice, young man this time, who set me up with these:

Dansko  Lisanne- I'm very pleased. I didn’t think such a shallow shoe could possibly be so supportive and yet comfy. We plan to go to Dillard’s next week to look at spring and summer clothes. I'm shopping online less and less, during the warmer weather. Does me good to get out and about in the sunshine. Tomorrow through Sunday we have a good chance of rain. Hope not for Sunday- the kids will be so disappointed if their egg hunt is called off.

I bought one of these and Gwen hung it from my terrace:

Thankfully, it's weather-proof. She and her fiancé will be back on Sunday after church. I have made up a little gift bag for each, and I'm taking a stuffed lamb to the little girl whose parents bought my house. She'll be there at the big church in my old neighborhood. I can’t miss hearing the choir, so rain or shine, I'll be there.

Snappy, wishing you a joyous and blessed Easter, too, dear! I prayed after reading your last post that you would have a much better week than last. I love your doctor's darling accent and how she didn’t come unglued! Yep, this is life once we get older- one thing after another wears out. All in all, I count us both very blessed. I see too much severe suffering and loneliness, I guess. Some in my family is after me to avoid some of that, but how does that help the suffering and lonely? I'll go on as best I can, for as long as our Lord gives me strength. Better that than sit and worry. Your DD would worry much more were you not there with her, so don’t feel bad about it. It just is that way when we care. Have you heard again from Shirley? 🙏

Ooh, The Cheesecake Factory! 😋 Bet your DD and her hubby enjoyed that anniversary dinner. I'd love a slice with blueberries right now. I believe we're having carrot cake here for dessert. It will have to do..

With Love,

Ruth Ann

Hello, over here, Agnes! Had just written you on D, but that is one fast moving site.. My message may be buried before you have time to see it.

Now I hope you and Darrell will dance as though no one is looking at the wedding! 💃🕺🏻 Have a ball, dear heart. You certainly deserve it. I pray Jacob passes all of his classes, and your mother is feeling a little better now. Spring has to come to CO, too, eventually. Sounds like she needs more PT to strengthen her core. They even have me to do gentle exercises for that.

I try to never miss Jeopardy and I wonder just how long James will go on winning? He may break the record- I believe he has already for speed. I wonder if these episodes were filmed prior to Alex's cancer diagnosis?? He sure looks as fit as ever, TG.

Enjoy your Easter celebrations! ❤️

Sweet Anu, thank you for the lovely video clip! You were right- I enjoyed it! Would love to be there one night under all those lights and among the fragrances.

I'm happy that your inlaws will soon be settled in- there near to you and Marian. If I had grandchildren, I'd want to be close and involved in their lives, too.

Take care of that sore ankle- let Mia help you bake. She so enjoys it, and I bet she's good at it, too. I love your dress!! All of you ladies will look so beautiful at the wedding. Take lots of pics, please. 😊

So far, so good.. my blue orchid is still thriving. I think I will email Anna for added tips, though. Just in case I should need them.

Good news, indeed, Selah- glad your aunt and uncle's house has sold! Hope they find something they can afford and will be comfortable in soon. Is Winona excited about the wedding? I haven’t seen any posts from her on D lately, but I know she stays busy sewing, etc. for those living on the reservation. Bless her!

Enjoy your GOT. I saw two episodes while HBO gave a free weekend away. Very cranial. Such a large cast and too many storylines for me to wrap my head around. I wonder how many will survive the coming war? Hope your Jon does!

Yes, very sad about the fire at the cathedral, but they'll have more than enough money to renovate it now. Billions have been pledged, and thank the Lord there were no injuries. A lot of history did go up in smoke, though.

Hello, Joy! Thank you, dear and a happy, blessed Easter to you, too! ❤️ I know from D that your DD and her hubby are going home for the long weekend. I'm sure you're busy getting everything prepared for a feast- plus opening the pool up. Have fun- relax and send my best to Yolanda and Reuben!

Chat more soon, friends.

With Love,

Ruth Ann

Hello, dear ones! Just stopping by briefly on a break to catch up with your doings... Love all of the dresses, outfits and shoes!! @LurkyLoo ~ I'd love a pair of those in the same color. Looks like the heel stretches. Should very easy to get on and off.

I bought these Naots to wear to the wedding:

With my Maid of Honor dress:

I'll be in A; Sarah in B and Agnes in C. Becky chose the color and kindly let us choose the style. So many bridesmaids dresses are cut so that it's impossible to wear a decent bra. Clearly for younger ladies who need little or no support. At our ages, regardless of size... we all need some! 😜

Yes, Marcia, I'll be changing for the reception. Haven’t decided into what yet, but your jumpsuit will be just fine! As Selah said... the happy couple wants us to relax and enjoy. Family and friends are the only reason they decided to have a reception at all. You know those two! Well, I'm excited for them and thankful they found each other at last.

Lurky, yes... my DD and her hubby will arrive tomorrow! Yippee ~ all 3 of my children and their families will be here to celebrate Easter with us. Having a cookout tomorrow evening, then dining out Sat. We'll only have the Sunday feast to prepare, and a few desserts. Thank Heaven that Suz' is doing a bit better. We so appreciate everyone's prayers. Enjoy your celebration, too. 💜

Hello to dear Snappy, Issy, cute, MsLomo, Hilo and all our friends here! May your Easter be over-flowing with the love and hope of the season.

Hi ladies:

I am just not able to communicate on the Q the way I used to; something new seems to happen each and every day that I need to report to my family or they to me so I do spend much of my time on either Facebook or on the telephone communicating with them.

Have tried to look at all your recent posts here to see what's going on with all of you.

Am so thrilled that my dear Marcia is now enjoying her precious baby boy Tyler. and that grandma is able to enjoy and help out during her visit.

Congradulations to Anu on passing the bar and on the first try. WOW!

Selah, you and Rowan are never forgotten,  thanks so much for sharing along the way, especially about the ministry.there in NC. Isn't Becky's groom one of your relatives?

Not surprised that Joy is at it again, with her matchmaking, and it seems to work!  Love all the dresses you gals have chosen for the wedding and thereafter. Praying for your daughter in law, Joy as she fights those awful bouts with Lupus.

A month or so ago I was able to get a note out to Agnes which could have certainly gotten lost in the midst.  I, would love to know how he and all of you are, dear.when you can manage it.

Ruth Ann: Your optomistic out look is always encouraging to me.even through all the pain you endure.

I thought it was about time to contact Snappy so if any of you would care to see a few  of the many things that are now going on my life they are on the widows site.

By the way, I was just on Facebook and see that Lisa Mason's husband died yesterday of cancer.  The testimony that Gino posted there is one of the most uplifting ones I've ever seen.  (Lisa was once one of QVC's most  beloved hosts and had retired about 4 years ago to be with Gino as they traveled through this dreaded journey.)  But Gino saw his illness from a different perspective!!

Happy Easter  to all,  He has risen!

My love,

Lois (HiLo)

Hello, at long last, sweet kindred! Using my mother's tablet so I can enlarge my font. She has sprained her wrist and has it in a sling now. Soaks it in Epsom Salts each night. I hope it will heal in time for the wedding. (Yes, @LurkyLoo - she is very excited for our brother, Josh and dear Becky!) Her skirt outfit naturally includes a light, short jacket (she is never without one, or a sweater) that will be “bunchy” with the sling. Otherwise, we are prepared!

I chose this dress:

7E790DBF-9F99-49FC-B4C1-92B6D349DA94.jpeg

0E018669-6957-40DB-96FF-6988D85709D7.jpeg

Specifically, since when trying it on, it gives the illusion that I have a tush! 😉😙  Ah, figure flaws … a first-world problem, I know, but I'm tired of looking like a 2x4 in my dress clothes. Don't even mention a swimsuit! I did find a skirted one, but it looks ridiculous with my granddaddy long legs.

Now, @HiLo … what, pray tell, is this wonderful body-giving QVC hair product that you’re currently using? (Yes, I read your post on Widows.) I wonder if it could help my lank mop. If anything can! Selah gets such good results from the Nick Chavez line, but then she has lots of body in her hair naturally. (The Scottish genes from her mother.) Mine is poker straight and body waves only produce frizz. Seriously thinking of getting a bob for the summer.

I know just what you mean by trying to keep up on social media. Not to sound “important” but especially while teaching full time, life is just too busy to talk about. Even by phone! I can read this thread by cell ph some evenings, if I don’t bring too much work home. By then, I'm too sleepy to post, though. No need to apologize - it's the same for all here. Most check in each week, or less, and one post to all is perfectly fine. I have been missing you, while understanding you are busier than ever with your houseguests. Will Lauren graduate this year? Such a gifted young lady. I'd love to hear her sing!

Was so sorry to read of your cousin's passing, your blind niece developing lupus and your brother's worsening MS. Our family remembers yours in prayer nightly - including your dear self. 6BDB171E-C40B-4964-AE3A-3FD6DF1B17EB.gif

I am so sad for Lisa Mason and family, too, though yes … I recall reading and being so uplifted by Gino's inspirational post. The last I heard; he was doing really well, so I'm a bit shocked at this news.

You mentioned cremation on Widows, and I had seriously considered that option. Burying the cremains and having a tree planted there, following the Christian burial at the gravesite. My oldest son, Daniel was none too pleased. I figure none of this will matter to me either way, but my children and (hopefully) some day … my grandchildren may yet have feelings to respect. My spidey-sense tells me that Daniel is somewhat still irrationally affected by losing a childhood friend in a house fire when he was 8-yrs old. Nevertheless, I will respect his wishes. Losing a parent is traumatic enough without additional grief over technicalities.

You may be pleased to know, that during this year's get-together with the KS ladies, we'll include a 3-day seminar at Billy Graham's Cove! Very happy that it all worked out, and even most of our parents and children can attend. Wish that you and Ruth Ann could be there, too, but we do understand and will pray for you there in the Chapel. 🙏

Yes, our small ministry on the reservation continues to thrive, though growth now has slowed.  Perhaps more will be led in time. Many stumbling blocks to overcome. We continue to do all we can to support it, but I confess … during the teaching year my time is very limited. I organized the Crisis Center there last summer, and still assist there. The farming projects are ongoing, and I'm using my art through instruction. Have both adult and children participating in night classes! I made a good friend who rents a shop in the River Arts District. She supports the Cherokee people by displaying some of their pieces. All proceeds go to the reservation. Sales should pick up through the tourist season.

Our youngest son, Joseph is here already - from Joy's/UVA for the Easter holiday. Daniel and his fiancée, Harper will arrive tomorrow from CT. by plane. We're currently under a tornado watch, and I do watch! Those things still scare the dickens out of me, though I try to stay mindful that, despite the 'giants' we face in life … God is in control. The battles are His to His glory. If I seek His will for me, He can be counted on to provide, come what may.

For all of you treasured ladies:

Forgot to mention to @LurkyLoo or anyone else who may be interested … for an early Mother’s Day gift, after spraining her wrist; I found this on Amazon:

AC4E0FE6-731C-4262-B270-60CFF00395E5.jpeg

Winona wanted me to tell you, Ruth Ann, that it's so very helpful. It's called “Levo Deluxe iPad Stand,” but it works for most any tablet, cell ph - even books! Both for reading, and most importantly … this deluxe (heavier) model doesn’t bounce around while typing. You can roll it about from chair to bed, or to recharge your devices. Swivel it any which way you need for optimum use. She uses this exclusively now for all social media and reading ebooks. No more awkward tray on or over her lap. Just swing it away when you’re done with it, so it doesn’t hinder rising from the chair. Or in your case … powering away in your chariot. 😊

Thinking of ordering one for myself. Looking down at devices is hard on the neck/vision - and who needs carpal  tunnel syndrome?

@Rowan72... how cool is that? 😍 No wonder Winona is so excited to share this handy contraption with us. Looks like just the thing to assist me in my new recliner. It's taller than my old one and no tray will fit over it. I'll go check this out and gift myself for Mother’s Day! Life's hard ~ work smart, I say.

Love your dress! I especially like the length. You won’t be tripping down the aisle, as I likely will. Bring your skirted swimsuit along for relaxing in and around the pool after the reception. No one has any room to laugh! Besides, I'd love a few added inches of your long legs. I'll trade you some of my hair's “body.” 😉 Today it's scary puffy with all the wind and humidity. We're under the same tornado watches. DD's county in S.C. is under the warning right now... thankfully they arrived ahead of the system. She even helped me with my charity route, bless her heart!

I have meatballs simmering in spaghetti sauce, since it looks like our cookout is a washout. Glad to hear Joseph arrived safely. This storm threat should be over before Daniel's flight.

Have a safe and deeply blessed Easter celebration! 💜

Dear @HiLo ~ so nice to see you here! 💜 Thank you for dropping by with your sweet Easter message. Yes, we sure do understand, and this site isn’t the easiest to post to anyway, so we appreciate the extra effort.

🤗 I can take no credit for Josh and Becky's true love connection. I consider it a God thing. Yes, he is Selah and Rowan's oldest brother. When Becky went with us to donate the seeds, etc. to the Cherokee ministry's farming project, Selah and Luke surprised us with a big cookout. Becky met Josh there and they immediately hit it off! I've never before witnessed her just open up and talk so freely with any stranger before or since. Like soul mates meeting, I guess. I'm thrilled for the both of them!!

Thank you so much for praying for our DIL, Suz'! That means the world to us. We're praying for you, your family and your SIL's ministry, too. Stay safe through these storms, dear friend. I’m going now to read your news on Widows. A glorious Easter to you and yours. 🌸

Love & Hugs,

~Joy 💜

Taking a much needed break from the baking. You wouldn't want to see my kitchen and dining room!!

image.jpg

Now to keep the guys out of the cupcakes until Easter Sunday. Post-It notes don't mean a thing to them.....

Sat down and turned on TWC. 😳 Whole east coast is lit, and I'm praying you ladies and all in the paths through these tornado and flood warnings. 🙏🙏🙏

Hello, @HiLo and many thanks! ❤️ You are never, ever forgotten either. At least we can drop one note to all here, but it's usually during a quick break. I jump in and out of usually this one thread. Read your msg on Widows and will pray for Rob's thyroid surgery, too. We need to update our prayer list again. I will get to that when possible. Have to clear away some of this mess so we can sit down to dinner. Just ordered pizzas, but still..... Sending you love, hugs and blessings for Resurrection Sunday!

Will check back soon, ladies. I so want that gizmo stand! Mom had the gooseneck model and it did bounce around too much for typing..... until it broke. This one looks super sturdy! 👍

Love,

Anu
