Hi Snappy......thanks for stopping by to chat.  I am so glad that the babies stopped by to see you.  That means so much.  Glad that you were able to hold the baby.  Little Elijah is just adorable.  He picks out his clothes in the morning and then walks over to the mirror and looks at himself and says "I look nice".  His mom is a fashion plate---so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Hope that you and your daughter have a wonderful weekend.  Things are just so busy these days, that I relish a quiet weekend now and then.  Take care.

Hello, Issy...oh my, Elijah is what used to be called a "caution"!!

He tells the truth about what he sees in the mirror. So cute.

I'm having a quiet weekend. Was still awake at 2 this morning, so hot. Woke close to 8 and had a semi-major hot flash. Wow, I couldn't get into the shower fast enough a while later. I'm 84, I guess we don't ever lose those things.

DD is about to go do the grocery shopping. During the summer, she could do it on most Fridays which meant far fewer people blocking the aisles.

Trader Joe's where we go has leased 2 stores next to it and is expanding!! Yipee. More things, and hopefully more room to walk It's such a fun place. I haven't been there or anywhere else for years...well, the book store this summer. Sometimes I'd like to see what's out there, but mostly I'm okay with it.

We have nailed down Oct 28 as the day for the fall birthdays here at our house. It's hard to find a time when everyone can make it.

Enjoy your weekend,

snappy Heart

Hi Snappy.....good to see you here.  It is also hot in my neck of the woods.  The grass on the hills has all dried up.

I, too love Trader Joe's, but it is always so crowded in my opinion.

Little Elijah is so smart.  You have to watch him every minute and be careful about what you talk about in front of him because he will repeat it.  He watches you very closely and loves to see how things are put together.  He is such a good little worker---loves to help mom.

Take care dear lady, and come back to visit soon.

Hello, Q-Friends! Last week of August already. I just ordered the TSV ... Martha's Heavy Duty XL Totes, because as Mom said, there's 100s of good uses for those around here. I also learned we'll have the regular PayPal option here soon. Very happy about that! It's my preferred payment option everywhere else online. Not that any place is hack-proof, but I've never had any security issues or mishaps through their service in many years so far.

I'm prepared for the new school year - as soon as I get my physical with blood work done tomorrow. Also the Crisis Center at the res', while not fully staffed yet, is up and running! I can better focus on both now, with less stress. Glad to read that all of you are mostly doing well. Still praying for @MsLomo's complete recovery and hoping we hear from her soon.

Cats are so funny sometimes, aren’t they, @Issy379? 😅 Hiding in plain sight ... and what can't they get into? Even when they can’t always get out of it again (i.e. Pringles cans!) Mosi - this sweet kitty who adopted my mother, Winona, is an endless source of entertainment and comfort, too. We count it a gift that no one has ever claimed her, and her health remains good. Thank you for the precious updates on Elijah!! Stylish and brilliant - what a winning combo! Will his Oct birthday have a theme? Nearly time to plan the Halloween party for the kiddos here. I need to search Pinterest for some new recipes and decorating ideas. Take care - hope it cools down out there for you soon.

@snappyfrappy, you got the greatest of all surprises when your doorbell rang the other day! Both babies and their sweet moms!! 😍 I'm so happy for you - and them. Some fun, bonding time with you, after the beach trip. I pray all goes well with the new eye doctor - following your (perhaps) last visit with Dr. Eye Candy. Humph! So much for “if you like your Dr., you can keep your Dr.”, huh? Hope DD#1 is feeling much better now, following that scary ocular episode. Sounds neurological at the source. Could be she inherited that tiny bit of your CMT, since you have experienced similar   symptoms. Agnes has told me that she gets odd scent auras right before the worst of her migraines kick in. A warning is good, as you say. Will you decorate for Autumn? I have taken everything from the old house out of storage now and either got rid of the surplus, or stacked it neatly in the shed. I yet have to clean it all. Then those storage totes will come in handy for each season. At this stage of life; I'm determined to keep such things to a minimum - and well organized. Take good care, dear friend. I'll check in with you here as possible. Unless, that is, it's becoming too hard on your vision. I increased the font and bolded it as much as possible on my device. ❤️

@LurkyLoo, thank you for all the shoe and boot tips! I will pass the info along to Mom and Selah. Selah has to see the Ear, Nose & Throat specialist soon. We believe she is allergic to something here. Ragweed? Anyway, she's having a nagging cough with much phlegm, so taking Zyrtec and Nexium, since it also burns her esophagus. They want to run some tests. Everyone else is doing well and all of Mom's tests came back looking good again. Don’t wear your eyes out with the quilting! 😇

@WaJa61, did you watch the finale of Sharp Objects yet? 😳 I still can’t get over the motive! Won’t spoil it, in case you're behind, but you were spot on. Since this was based on a book, I can only hope it was a totally fictional novel. Not that these things don’t go on in this world, but geesh! 😱😰 Have you heard yet how your brother's Hawaiian vacation went? Good he left before Lane struck, and I hope it brought him peace.

@cute t, congratulations to your granddaughter on her engagement, and your TX family on finding the new house and property! So good to know your GGS is doing so well - another music lover. How is his mom since beginning the thyroid cancer treatments?

Have a nice week ahead, friends and a wonderful Labor Day weekend, however you choose to spend it!

Hello, Issy. Yesterday when I tried to come here, it said "QVC is not responding". Today it's okay, obviously. DUH.

TJs is crowded, especially on the weekends, but we are hoping the expansion of ours will help with that problem. It's such a fun place to shop.

Elijah is a smart little one for sure. They are so much fun. Star is so well traveled already. Her parents took her up the tram to the top at Palm Springs and they had dinner up there. I've never had the nerve to go up that. Of course she didn't know of the possible dangers. As usual, she was just a happy girl. Tomorrow she will be 14 months old, and Sunny is 8 weeks. I'm buying Christmas presents for them...so easy to do.

I ordered 2 sets of Martha's tote bags for birthday presents for the fall. One to keep here. It can be used for lots of things.

Yesterday, I called the insurance company again to be the squeaky wheel. I told them I wasn't interested in seeing any other eye doc, and wouldn't trust anyone else. Ran through my life, yada yada...all on tape.

The lady said she understood, and would return the aurhorization to see the new doc telling the company that I only want to see Dr. Eye Candy. It will take 4-5 days for their response. I am doing what I can and am looking foward to seeing my doc next month. They will pay for that visit.

I'll see what he suggests.

As always, it's in the Lord's hands, I just do what seems reasonable to try and after that, His will be done.

Wouldn't some rain be lovely??

I know the people in the burn areas are concerned about flooding and are trying to take precautions beforehand.

Hope you have a nice weekend,

snappy Smiley Happy

Hi Rowan, thank you for stopping by and increasing the font size. It helps me so much, but I don't want anyone else inconvenienced by it.

I just heard of PayPal. My GS gets paid that way for his handyman business. I have no idea what it is or how it works, but am glad you haven't had any trouble using it.

I ordered 2 sets of the tote bags last night. One green, one in the gray. I'll give each fall birthday person one along with something else. They can use them for gardening or anything. They look nice.

Yes, back to school. Hope you have a good year. It's nice that the kitty came your way and is a comfort to your mom.

I don't know if DD's ocular episodes are related to CMT, or even if she has it. I asked about migraines, but she said this is different. In October, I see the neurologist, so I'll tell him about the little light bubbles my brain sees moving up or down. They don't bother me at all otherwise.

I only decorate for Christmas. Fall is my favorite time of year, and the colors used to be what I wanted around me all the time, but now I'm completely in to gray, white, red, yellow, burgandy.

DD has cherry finished furniture in her bedroom, and den area, and has put out some fall things, like a wooden pumpkin and an orange owl on her mantle. I had some wooden pilgrims which I gave to DD#1 who has us over for Thanksgiving, and do have a couple of Easter things I put out on the table.

I was blessed with the visit with the babies and their moms.

I've been buying them Christmas presents. Easy to buy for the little ones.

DD#2 has 24 kids this year. Twelve in the AM, twelve in the PM. They overlap in the mid day, but it's okay. Yesterday there were SO many parents and grandparents swarming, and a pedestrian was killed on the freeway which DD passes so it took her an hour to get to work. She should be able to get there in 20 minutes, tops. But, someone lost his life. So sad.

Hi to all the KS ladies, cute, Issy, Bathina and MsLomo whom we pray will be completely healed very soon now.

Ladies, warm hellos and hugs to all! My patient load doubled for a couple of weeks, while I returned the “favor” for those staff members who covered for me during my vacation. Met some interesting clients, but I'm glad that's it for now. . . Until the holidays roll around.

Issy: Wish I could share a pic of the darling newborn we're blessed with caring for each evening, while her young mom undergoes treatments. The grandmother, who loves her so and wants temporary custody cares for her during the days while we work. She's an RN on the night shift. She requires help at home with childcare so she can get her proper sleep. We're praying for the best when the case will be decided in court. Mike and I are nearing the end of our state mandated training. Looking forward to the various options available to us for permanent adoption. Your Elijah is quite the stylin' and confident chap! 😎 Bless him—the world is his oyster. Hope the CA air has cleared and you'll enjoy some gentle rains soon.

We've been dealing with the threat, smoke and ash of the local wildfires. Packed and standing by should we get the warning to evacuate. It's an uneasy feeling both at home and work. My Jeep is so stuffed that Dexter can barely find a spot to curl up, on his way to and from doggie daycare! 😜

Snappy: it's thrilled I am that you got the big surprise visit from Star, Sunny and their moms! Bet you'll get lots more as the babes grow into themselves and become more verbal with their wishes. I'll be praying over your eyes, as usual. . . and now this dilemma posed with your coverage for Dr. Eye Candy. I'm sure you've explained your mobility and other health issues, while squeaking that wheel. It's a hardship to get transportation so far away, and you're smack dab in the middle of very specialized treatments. Naturally it's in your best interest to stay the course. Best wishes for your daughter's new school year. I'm so sorry about the pedestrian who lost their life. 😢

Special hellos to bathina and cute! ❤️❤️

. . . to all! I either have already, or will soon be in touch with the rest of you dear kindred privately. Had to get a new smart phone following the T-Mobile hack.

Sláinte! 😘

Dear DeLaney,

How nice to find you here today!

Oh, you must love that little baby so much. Glad you are nearing the end of your training. It will be so interesting to see what little one is "yours". A priviliged one for sure.

Certainly hope you don't have to evacuate!

The babies are so darling. Star is 14 months old now and Sunny will be 2 months on Monday. The moms seem to be helping each other with encouragement. And when Sunny's mom returns to work, Star's mom will take care of her one day a week, my DDIL one day and the other days she will be in day care. I wish her mommy could stay home.  Her hubby told her she can, but either she wants to work, or they need the money.

I explained my whole saga to the insurance people. Those ladies don't make policy, but they are the ones who have to deal with patients with issues, such as mine.

Because of the holiday, I doubt I'll hear from them until next week.

DD will know any minute now if she has to have a K/1 class starting on Tuesday. If so, she will have to be working in her room all weekend. That is so hard for me to think about. The K's use tables, the 1st graders, desks. So lots of furniture moving and 2 curriculums to get in order plus all the wall decor needs to include that which pertains to 1st grade. They knew this was likely seeing how many 1st graders there were and were offered a 3rd 1st grade teacher, but declined. There will be lots of unhappy parents in every class. Kids just getting started having to go to new teachers, etc. I've been praying for another solution, as has DD. Am eager to hear.

She as so looking forward to 3 days off, as was I. Well, as always, the Lord's will be done.

Hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend.

Hi Snappy Lady.  Thanks for stopping by today.  It is hot in my neck of the woods.  Hope that your daughter can enjoy the long weekend.  It goes by so fast.

Little Elijah knows his name but he calls himself "Li---jah".  He is learning to feed himself.  Sometimes the food falls off of the fork.  So, he puts the little slice of chicken on the fork with his left hand and then brings to fork to his mouth.  Well, I guess that there is more than one way to skin a cat!

Hi Delaney.  I have been wondering how you were doing.  the baby sounds so precious, but I know that when the time is right, you will have your dream come true.

Hi Cute; we miss you.  Hello MsLomo.....we miss you, too.  Hi Rowan, Bathina, Agnes, Lurky, Selah and all of the wonderful ladies of the Q.  Enjoy the Labor Day weekend.  I shall return.
