Big helloes to you ladies! Stopping by to see what's new after ordering my parents' 5' flocked Christmas tree for their den. I think the TSV is a pretty good price and I read mostly positive comments and reviews here.
The reservation ministry has a bus now! A very generous donor provided that, and we took a group of the children on a field trip to visit Rainbow Falls:
In the Smokey Mts where the heat was not so oppressive. Enjoyed a picnic near the base of the falls. A nice little get-away and many were so proud that our entire “feast” was a result of their own collective labors. They are now producing enough to preserve and even sell fresh produce! They love to search the net for new recipes, too, like many here enjoy.
I'm loving the fashions posted and many that are currently trending. I think because they hearken back a bit.
Including the (new) vintage bags! Just practical, yet classic style, which always summons me.
Adore the ease of halter dresses - so glad they're back!
@Issy379 - did you find the perfect outfit for the luncheon? Something tells me you did! Likely already had it in your closet.
Mulled wine hair coloring. I'd love to find the courage to try that this Fall! I'm so very bored with my hair.
Selah got us both this jacket on her outlet trip!
Don't know if you girls have heard, but I just read on Twitter that Downton Abbey is coming to the big screen soon!
Film production begins this summer! Apparently the entire cast will be involved. I recall there are other fans here.
Enjoy your day with Star and Sunny tomorrow, @snappyfrappy! 😊 We continue to pray for your vision and your DD's health. Mom (Winona) thanks you for your prayers!
I'll share a recipe below that I tried last night. Everyone enjoyed it, so thought you might, too - or share it with others who will.
Have a beautiful Sunday, friends! 🌈💐

Bacon Asparagus Cajun Pasta
Ingredients:
* 8 ounces rigatoni pasta
* 4 slices uncured hickory smoked bacon coarsely chopped
* 12 stems asparagus rough ends removed and cut in bite size pieces
* 4-6 cloves garlic minced
* 8 cups fresh baby spinach
* 1/2 cup dry white wine
* 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
* 4 teaspoons Cajun spice
* 1 cup grated fresh Parmesan
Instructions:
1. Cook pasta according to box instructions and drain well.
2. In large skillet over medium heat add bacon pieces. Cook for 8 minutes. Add asparagus and cook for 8 minutes. Reduce heat and add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add spinach and cook just until slightly wilted. Remove to plate.
3. Using same skillet pour in wine scraping bottom to remove browned bacon bits. Add cream, Cajun spice and simmer to desired thickness stirring frequently. Remove from heat and slowly add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth. Add bacon/asparagus mixture and drained rigatoni. Serve immediately.
Notes:
You need to use fresh grated Parmesan, not the stuff that comes in the can. That contains non-clumping additives that will not allow your cheese to melt correctly.

Hello, all! Good to see each of you and I'm relieved to know that cute and family are all okay. 😊 Thanks for checking in!
Hope you and yours are having a blast today with the babies, snappy!
All is well here and the weather has been fantastic. Low 70s today and sunny. 😎 I think I'm prepared with wardrobe for our eastern travels, and if not. . . will pick up a few pieces when we shop. I always return with more luggage than I leave with.
Selah, I think you would look great with the close cropped hair. Just maybe not platinum blonde with your coloring. Then again. . . what do I know? You are bold enough to do “striking!”
Rowan, could I substitute Orzo for Rigatoni in that recipe? I'm not going to reveal how we ended up with 12 boxes of Orzo from Italy, rather than 2, but unless I can pawn some of it off. . . (may being you each a box Sat! 🤡) I'll be needing lots of recipe ideas on how to serve it up. Would deeply appreciate any by email, or here, if they won’t bore others too much.
Love the mulled wine hair coloring for you!
Love and Peace to all Q-Friends,
—Marcia 💋

Hi Snappy. So good to see you here. Entertainment Reporter, "Issy" has the following report: Well, ladies the birthday celebration was fabulous--off the hook so to speak. My attire--I wore white silk skinny pants, white silk shell, a red chiffon hawaiian print, knee length kimono with a red & white lei and a flower in my hair--with red accessories.
People entering the venue were greeted by three dancers. Inside, there was an assistant who gave you your boarding pass. Next, I was greeted by my SIL & my brother. My SIL was wearing a silver silk long dress with a silver metallic lace coat over it. Of course, she was crowned with a beautiful tiara because she was queen for the day and the ship was named after her. My brother was the Captain and he was wearing white slacks, a navy blue double breasted jacket, white shirt, blue tie and a captain's hat.
Next, I took a picture with my brother & SIL, and proceeded to the next room where an individual picture was taken with a "cruise ship" in the background. I proceeded to the banquet room which was decorated with three different destinations--Hawaii, Mexico and Paris. There were at least 150 people seated at round tables.
I opted for the mexican food. That serving station was outstanding. Fixings for tacos, burritos, spanish rice, beans, enchiladas, salads, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, chips, mini-churros, ground beef, chicken, pulled pork....fancy drinks with umbrella straws.........need I say more.
The second food station was serving french cuisine. There was a beautiful cheese platter, crepes made to order, fruit. The third food station served hawaiian food. The menu consisted of hawaiian bread, meat dishes, sweet potato fries, pineapple, melons, strawberries, blackberries, cranberries, coconut and pineapple upside down cake.
Some people participated in the bingo game next door, and there was a limbo contest and dance lessons--slide to the right, slide to the left, cha, cha, cha.
There was a "floor show". My brother sang the love song that he sang to my SIL at their wedding for which he received a standing ovation, and almost made me cry. The show consisted of a Motown Revue--(impersonators) Marvin Gaye/Tammi Tyrell (Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing, Baby), the Supremes (Baby Love) the Temptations (My Girl) and James Brown medly with Michael Jackson. People were up dancing.
By this time, my SIL had changed clothes. She wore a three piece, green ensemble that was stunning. There was a contest where some of the people won $100 gift cards.
Next came the tribute to my SIL, and the cutting of the cake. My SIL loves to entertain, but I think that she really out did herself with this one. You really felt like you were on a cruise ship enjoying all of the activities. I did think of you ladies while I was at the party.

Just a quick hello to all you fabulous ladies! Have to get dinner going here.
Love the recipes, fashions ~ especially those vintage style bags, Rowan... and is that a tube top, Marcia? 😍 I do so remember those from my teens years, with hip hugger, bell bottom jeans and platform shoes.
So happy the ministry was gifted with the bus, Ro'! Rainbow Falls is a gorgeous spot for a picnic. Glad to hear the harvests there are so bountiful, too. I pray the progress continues.
LOL, Marcia! Was Dexter pawing at your cell phone again? Orzo is great in most any soup, you know. Fall will be here before you know it, so if the date is good... You'll use it up. I have several recipes in my head. I'll try to get those off to you soon.
Waving to cute, Issy, Snappy, MsLomo and all our friends here! Have a wonderful week, ladies. 💗

OMG, Issy ~ that party sounds truly fabulous!! From the theme, the attire, the food and the MUSIC!! I do so love the old Motown sound!
I'll be back to better savor the details later. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

A good Tuesday to you ladies! Loved reading all the posts. I hope Snappy is okay and able to connect here. I'm having to sign in as I go from one thread to another today. It's been reported so I hope they fix it soon. I want to hear all about her family get together with those precious baby girls! Also hoping your eye is better. ❤️
Hello to cute- I want to wish your Great Grandson all the best in trade school! I think that is a wise decision for so many young people. Mike Rowe (my secret crush) talks about it a lot. I continue to pray for the baby's mother- I hope the thyroid cancer is in remission now. Don’t be a stranger. We miss you so when you’re not here. ❤️
Selah, I got tempted by the short, gray wig here on QVC today. Went ahead and ordered it this time. The price is reasonable enough if you want to try out the look in any shade, before cutting off your gorgeous hair. You may regret that in the winter. I do hear you, though.. the humidity! My hair has always had the tendency to frizz, no matter what I use on it. I go out for just a bit and I can’t believe the sight of it, when I come back in. ❤️
Marcia, I sent you two recipes! Hee-hee. I think I know exactly how it happened, if you were ordering on Prime Day. A few of my neighbors were complaining about the glitches on Amazon, when they tried placing orders. At least yours went through. Most of theirs didn’t. I'm all ready for you girls! Whatever you decide to wear will be just fine by me. ❤️
Rowan. I know you and others here love crafts. This may even be cute projects for the children on the res'. Look! Little tooth fairy pillows, with a pocket for the tooth:
If you want to get more creative, you can embellish them and hide the pocket in a tutu or skirt!
We've been busy making those and these:
Which make bathing and showering so much more convenient. You can use exfoliating material, or any wash cloth or towel. Some add draw strings, but I don’t like those. This is my preferred method. Then just turn it inside out to remove your favorite soap and launder as usual. We made them for most of the ladies here- now the gentlemen are requesting them, too. So happy about the bus! 🚌 Our Lord is really blessing the ministry there. ❤️
Hello, sweet Anu- blessings to you, too! I'm glad you'll be arriving on Sat, since rain is predicted Sunday - through next week here. Safe travels to you all! ❤️
Issy, our entertainment reporter! You missed your calling- you are so good at this that I feel as though I was there at the cruise party. Your SIL is certainly a creative hostess with the mostest, too! Your outfit sounds so stylish and I would have opted for the Mexican food, too. 😻 Thank you for the fascinating scoop! ❤️
Hello to Joy, bathina, MsLomo, Agnes, Hilo and ALL who can drop by. Sending you each a cyber hug. ❤️
