Hi Snappy; good to see you here today.  I am enjoying hearing about DD#1's trip.  Imagine standing on the same steps as Harry & Meghan.  That is simply amazing.

BTW, I saw a cute movie this past weekend starring Meghan on the Hallmark Channel.  the movie was entitled, Dater's Handbook.  Very appropriate.  I think that you will like that one.

Hope that you are free of the critters.  We have critters around here, too, but I have never seen a skunk.  I saw a mother raccoon and 2 babies come from across the street and go into the underground drain next to my house.  Guess that they are living in there.  I hope that you won't have any more critters visit you.  Are you still bothered by the ants?

See you soon, dear lady.

Hi MsLomo.  So happy to see you here.  I, too want Cute to check in to make sure that she is okay.

I am loving all of the fashion, and makeup tips.  BTW, I ordered from Evine an Anuschka handbag, Item No. 736-895--the handpainted lion.  It is stunning.  Check it out.  I see that Marla Wynne had a sale recently.

How is your son doing?  Come back soon.

Hello. @cute t! So nice to see you posting, and to hear that your grandson's wife is doing good with her thyroid cancer treatments. Such a blessing! I know you're happy to be busy out mowing the lawn. It's still pretty soggy here and the grass and weeds are certainly flourishing! Flowers, too. We have tiger lilies in bloom now that are taller than I am! They look prehistoric, or as though they're on steroids. All this rain, I guess. As it clears up and the humidity is supposed to drop this weekend, my hubby will tackle the lawn. You take care and drop by again soon, dear one. We miss you so when you have to be away! ❤️

@Issy379 ~ thank you for the hug and well wishes! Back atcha, too, (((sweet lady!)))  BTW, my DIL and I watched that sweet movie starring Meghan on Hallmark, too. I hope our Snappy sees it. Lighthearted and timely! ❤️

@bathina ~ I should learn from this ordeal to be less stubborn and accept limitations with more grace. Trying to carry a cup of coffee to my desk by utilizing just one crutch... that didn’t go well! Made a terrible mess and couldn’t clean it up myself. Therefore making more work for Yolanda, who would have been all too happy to bring me the coffee in the first place. I'll learn, or die trying, I guess! We watched the Terror ~ so bleak and intriguing to the very end. Those poor souls, including the natives who only tried to help those starving. Thank you, dear lady for caring and checking in here. ❤️

@snappyfrappy, love... I wish I could use a walker and I will, if needed, when they tell me I can safely put weight on this foot. Not yet, you see. Only briefly to get in and out of the shower. Will rented me a scooter for the 4H fair. We kept it an extra day, but it's hard to get in and out of that alone with crutches, too. I can’t get close enough to my desk to work while seated in it either. I'll survive, though. and no doubt learn more patience through this healing process! Everything happens for a good reason.

Bless you and happy June, dear one! I'm thanking the Lord that your eye has improved. Loving the deets you share on DD's exciting trip abroad! I heard from Hilo last night, who is dealing with some personal matters right now. That's why she hasn’t been here. I know you are praying for her as she continues to heal. ❤️

@agnesann ~ thank you again, and let me vouch for how beautiful you look in all that new makeup! It suits you and your new tré chic hairstyle perfectly! We are all so proud of your Jacob!! ❤️

Any friends of the former member “betteb” here? Croemer was kind enough to start a bereavement thread in CC in her sweet memory. Yes, sadly, betteb suddenly passed away yesterday. Here is the thread link for any wishing to pay their respects, the only way we can:

Also, Jubilant's mother is in the hospital with pneumonia, so she is requesting prayers for her in Wellness.

I wish you all a nice evening and a good weekend.

Hello, ladies - and thanks for all the news, Joy. I visited both threads. I had been missing betteb's presence here for a very long time. She was one who stood out - for the right reasons.

School's out for the summer for me, and summer has definitely arrived, too. Tomorrow will be 102°, but that's cool.....as long as the AC holds out. Just guess what I'll be doing! Babysitting a little 4-month old girl for a co-worker. She and her hubby are going to be celebrating their anniversary with a romantic weekend. I'm a little out of practice, but it should all come rushing back to me. What her mommy doesn't "note" for me. First time moms! ☺️

Enjoy the birthday party, Snappy! Hope it won't be too hot out for you. Good news on the improving vision in your eye!

Have a beautiful weekend, friends. 💗

Summer Berry Tart

4BBB9356-3F12-4BCA-9A94-21A060A2332E.jpeg

1 9 inch sheet, puff pastry, defrosted but cold
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 plus 1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a non stick baking mat.

– In a small bowl, mix together cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

– Lay your puff pastry on the non stick mat. Roll out slightly with a rolling pin. Smooth together seams if necessary.

– Use a pizza cutter to score a rectangle in the middle. Do not cut all the way through. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly across the rectangle.

– Layer cream cheese with rows of strawberries and blueberries.

– Using a pizza cutter, cut strips on a diagonal on both sides of the fruit. Fold pieces over one another. Once you get to the end, tuck ends up on top. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with remaining sugar. Put back in fridge for 10-15 minutes to rechill.

– Remove from fridge and bake in the oven for 16-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on a trivet. Serve at room temperature.

Hello, dear ladies! ❤️ Stopping by to wish you each a nice Sunday evening. Have replied to the group email for many here before signing on. Was sorry to hear that Rowan and her husband had to delay their move due to Lilian's funeral. God rest her kind and gracious soul. 🙏

I so enjoyed reliving the beautiful fashions from the Royal Wedding here.. My, my such finery and finesse! 😊 You ladies sure know your cosmetics, too. I go even less basic than the Queen, I think. A little powder, sometimes blush and then lipstick. Best not to fool around with the eyes much at my age- in my condition anyway. Others here where I live do and look lovely.

How is your vision now, Snappy? Hate to think of you needing a magnifier to read here. 😟 Will keep this short and sweet, dear. Hope the party went well yesterday and didn’t tire you too much. They have finished my bathroom with the walk-in tub! There was both wall and floor work, as well as plumbing to complete. That's why it took so long, and I just stayed on at Tom's to avoid all the dust. Congestion I don’t need with CHF. Sure you understand. Love my tub- so relaxing and blessedly, so much safer. Have you heard the date for Shirley's next scan yet? Praying!

Anu, I know you're having fun babysitting that little girl! 🤗 You might even decide you want another. 😉

Joy..

..it really doesn’t sound much like you are resting so your foot can heal! Why are we not surprised? Behave yourself down there and stop creating more work for Yolanda. I laughed at what she said! “Bubble wrap and duct tape.”

Did you already finish the journal Bible?

😜 Please pass along my love to Hilo. I have and continue to pray for Jubilant's mother and the whole family. Thank you for pointing us to croemer's thread on betteb's passing, too. A bright light gone to meet the greatest of all.

Hello and blessings to MsLomo, Issy, cute, bathina, Dawn and all our friends here.

Hi, friends! Here it is Monday again already....back to the grind. Our weekend was nice, but busy with chores. Finally got the lawn mowed and some badly needed weed whacking done. Becky and I have several raised garden beds near her barn. Weeds even found their way into those during all the storms. The veggies survived, though - the water drains well into the gravel below. We’re getting lettuce, carrots, onions, cukes and radishes. Have Roma tomatoes beginning to ripen. Perfect for a garden salad! Over in the melon field our cantaloupes and watermelon plants look good, too. I love both and can’t wait for those! Look at these cute melon and berry bowls that I lack the talent to create - some of you may, though!

They would be such fun at a 4th of July celebration! I may be able to manage the porcupine - the easiest, I think.

Thank you ladies for remembering and understanding about my son! I just didn’t want to come across as a braggy mom, while letting you know he is improving in some ways.

Yes, Snappy! Most of my prayer life is now in humble gratitude and praise, other than, of course my petitions on behalf of others. Can’t thank God enough for the mercy and blessings He has bestowed upon us through grace.

VBS will be starting soon, so my work schedule will change for that week. Have been planning my classroom studies and projects. Jacob will be Joy's DIL's class - I'll have the smaller children. 😊 Did your DD survive the class zoo trip? I know how exhausting that can be, especially when it's hot. I can’t wait to read all about the birthday party when you have time to post - and if your eyes have cleared up!

This morning, before work, I caught a D & Co show. Bought two of the Original Waist stretch jeans in the new Amethyst color and the Taupe. Hope I ordered the right size. I also got two of the Halston v-neck tanks. They've been showing a lot of cute shoes, too,  but I have to try them on. Shipping them back costs too much.

Ruth Ann, I'm so glad the tub has been installed and you can enjoy relaxing during your bath now! Joy's BIL and SIL visited with them over the weekend. This is the one (RW) who has the skin cancer on her hand, so we should hear about her treatments soon. No worries when Will is home, lol. He makes sure Joy rests and otherwise behaves herself. Gracie is on the job, too! She can work that Bunn k-cup coffee/tea brewer like nobody's business. 😉 Oddly, I think the web designing is relaxing to Joy anyway. It would drive me bonkers! All those codes. Love that gray kitty! Is it your Smoky? He's pondering something very seriously. Adorable!!

Hope you enjoyed babysitting, Anu! I figure between you and Mia, she went home thoroughly spoiled. 😍

Back to work I go - hi-ho. Have a good week, ladies!

With love from Agnes ❤️

Thanks for reminding me, @agnesann to thank each of the sweet ladies here for praying for my SIL, R.W. I was so pleased and relieved to see her looking so good, and feeling so optimistic. They removed the cancerous lesion from her hand. Took nine stitches inwardly and nine on the surface. The latter to be removed on her follow-up later this week. They believe they got it all and that no chemo or radiation will be necessary at this time. Will watch it closely, and since she was a sunbather... they will soon do the full body scan. 🙏

Those watermelon fruit bowls are delightful! I bet my oldest son could help us figure them out.

@LurkyLoo ~ I'm behaving myself! Honest. All this sitting isn't helping my sciatica, tho. Jodi picked up one of the special cushions from the medical supply store. Looks like a large bicycle seat? She's bringing it over later when they come for dinner. I managed to get 3 pans of lasagna in the oven (with Yolanda's help). Should be fun watching Jax make a huge mess of that!

I also know she intends to ask Will if he's willing to adopt another mule that so far no one else wants. Awww, poor sweetie. A possible pal for Festus. (She knows it's fine by me.) Maybe that will improve his disposition. 😉

Enjoy your new tub!! I sure will pass along your love to dear HiLo. Need to reply to her soon.

Sending love and hugs to all here!

Hello, ladies—good to see you all today. Been reading a bit in the evenings by cell to keep up, but other than work, etc., we've been trying to help out Lilian's family. As much as anyone can during such painful times. Ruth Ann, thanks for the simple berry tart recipe. I will make a couple of those to take to them. (A couple for us, too.)

Her daughter wants to keep her art studio/shop going in her memory, but she can’t stand (right now) to part with (sell off) any of her mother's original pieces. I can certainly understand that. She could showcase those exquisite pieces, and hopefully hire a few other talented artisans to sell their work from the shop. She, herself is quite creative, but like most ... has to work 9-5. Her art is more of a hobby. We remain concerned for the two oldest grandchildren who Lilian was instrumental in raising. Please continue to remember them in your prayers. Lilian's surviving family—the Lord knows them well.

Joy, such good news on your SIL! I pray nothing else crops up. How is Jackie now? I see we need to up the prayers for Jubilant’s poor mother. 😟 I cannot recall betteb—I'm sorry! I never became acquainted with as many members here as you, dear heart. Sympathies on her abrupt passing, though. That's one less kind poster here and it appears the activity level on the forums continue to drop. I believe most ppl use other, less anonymous forms of social media now. Was certainly shocked and disheartened to hear the news on the lovely and talented Kate Spade this morning. Lord, be with her young daughter especially.

I'm happy to hear your foot seems to be healing well, and you have plenty of safe work to occupy your mind. Hoping the cushion helps with the sciatica! Did Will okay the mule from Jodi's animal rescue? Something tells me he did. 😉

I got the chair! It's due to arrive (at Rowan's) on Flag Day. That's 3 days before Father's Day, and better yet—school (private) will be out by then, so she'll be home. Everything is ready to be moved into their house now, and Luke and Chay have been taking some of the larger pieces over each night. So, by this weekend they can set up house. 😊  Daniel and Harper have returned home to begin their cooking careers. Still no wedding date set! It wouldn’t surprise me if Josh and Becky ties the knot before those two. It would be so nice if they have the wedding when we're all together in July, but then ... not up to me or my schedule.

Thank you, @bathina for the additional info on Terror! The true history book is sure to be even more interesting than the series. I don’t want to spoil anything for Issy and others who may watch it later, so I'll use the tag for my questions:

Spoiler
Did the sister ever get the ring from the first victim? Who or what put the chains on the man's face in the last episode? Or did he do it himself, after losing his mind? It looked like a binding ritual, but was never explained.

Thanks in advance, if you know the answers! ❤️

Agnes, there are so many creative people to admire their talents. I love the animal bowls! I'm no good with carving, but Joshua is. Let Becky show them to him by email.

I love these hedge sculptures!

Show those to Jacob for me. Horses that won’t intimidate him. 😊 No, honey ... no one could ever confuse you with a braggart. We love hearing of your son's progress. Best wishes with the VBS!

Hello to Snappy, Issy, MsLomo, cute, Annabelle, Marcia, Anu, Hilo and all who visit!

Sending you some Tuesday love:
