Hi DeLaney, living in a little place on the beach has always sounded so delightful to me.
Alas, it's not to be. I do hope DD will be able to take me down to the place I like so much one day this summer. They used to have a little shopping area with a place that made one of a kind ceramic pieces and another with sea scapes that were so beautiful.
Of course I can't walk around there noe, so maybe the memories are enough. I bought quite a few of the ceramic lawn mushrooms. Most of them have been damaged over the years, but I can see a blue one from where I am right now. It's in a pottted plant on the patio. It's cooler and cloudy and we may very well get some real rain in the week ahead.
I am loving the Olympics. Praying for the Lord's people who always attend this sort of thing with the desire to share with visitors. May many come to faith.
I pretty much confine myself to one frapp a week. Sundays. But now and then when coming home from a doctor visit, the car just happens to go to the drive=thru.
Must be the GPS...Otherwise, I don't drink coffee or tea. I used to, but it has no appeal to me anymore. I don't tolerate caffeine.
It's close to 4 out here. DD is out grocery shopping. This is a 3 day weekend. Yeah.
Happy you will get to enjoy your anniversary the way the two of you desire.
You are so good to your parents and I'm sure they appreciate that. Glad you can stay in town during the weather you are having.
Take care,
snappy

Rowan, I have a space for you here on the "slug sofa". It has recliners at both ends. So we can have out hot cocoa and maybe some sort of "nutritional" snack and enjoy the ice skaring and crazy things like the "luge". Imagine WANTING to hurt oneself blindly down a long ice chute possibly crashing into the wall and doing bodily harm!! It's pretty exciting to watch. Now curling is another matter. I'm sure it require much in the way of strategy, but it just looks...dare I say it, boring? There, I said it.
I'm also a 'phile!!! Only I don't get to enjoy it as in years past. We might get rain this coming week. Maybe I'll to out and splash in a pool of water, if it stays on the ground that long.
Have a nice day,
snappy

@agnesann, I'm leaving my cell on, in hopes of hearing that you received the short recipe by txt - and praying you are feeling a bit better this evening! Are you still running a fever? If you think you could be developing pneumonia, please go back to the Dr, ASAP.
I'm there, Snappy - LOL! - My fellow 'phile! Loving our slug sofa, beverages and snacks. Nothing like Flo's express lounge service. 😍 Wasn't the ice-skating amazing?! I can't imagine ever having such fluid grace and coordination! Not even during my youth. No, no luge for me either! As for the curling ... I believe the Scots developed that sport. Let's blame Selah! It looks like something she would come up with to trick me into sweeping the floor, which was always her chore. 😉
Chay went to the fish market after church, looking for crabs or crab meat since Issy's post had me jonesing for spiced crab dip. All they had was artificial crab meat. Blech! What is that slimy looking stuff anyway?
I hope you get the rain - enough to leave puddles to splash about in! 😊
Have a nice evening, dear friends! ❤️

...and tax preparation time to boot.
AND it's been so rainy that even the ducks have had enough. They try to take shelter in the hen house. What a ruckus! 🙀 Must be something to that "birds of a feather" thing ~ gaggles and broods don't play well together. And some cranky, puffed up divas need a time out alone ~ maybe a nap! (Do they make chicken Lithium?)
Snappy just have Flo to whisk you over here if your rain puddles haven't materialized. We have 'em in spades! Some minor flooding, too. Gracie's school was closed today due to the rising river (and creeks). I had her and Jacob helping me at work. Now that I've hosed off all of our boots, thrown the clothes in the wash and put my ham and scalloped potatoe casserole in the oven... I am ready for the slug sofa! Scooch on over, Rowan! Can't promise I'll stay awake through all the games (especially Scottish Selah's curling), so excuse me if I snore. 😽
So relieved you have found the safer work-around for your morning routine. Snappy! I have never liked to jump outa' bed and into the shower anyway. Too shocking to my system or something. I need subtle in my mornings... though I'm not always appeased, like this morning. But what better way to gird yourself for the day's challenges, than to spend some quiet time in the Word? Good for you, and thank goodness your cardiologist reassured you. Are you breathing easier now? Poor Agnes sounds terrible and maybe needs something else from her GP now. Keep the prayers coming, please! ❤️
MsLomo ... Ha! You saw it ~ I'm busted again, but so it wasn't me after all who created the infamous "wrote" quote malfunction. I didn't think I was that creative, and now I see one the kind mods says the IT team is working on it. Must be... I keep getting the dreaded 303 error on Safari here and only here. Parsing? Redirection? Then again, it could be happening ~ ironically ~ due to the new Apple banner. Who knows?
Thank you for your kind comments! 😘 It helps that Rowan is an artist (and art history major). When you know someone, you can better relate to what makes them tick. She is a treasure and so are you! I'll go through my recipes and see if I have any shortbreads that may interest you. Pacifiers on the Christmas tree!! 😇 What a precious memory!
Marcia ~ YAY!!! So glad you've hired your mom's housekeeper to help you out! There are only so many hours in a day, and you need a few to just relax. Your work is so stressful. This is for you...
...Speaking of sweet memories! Reuben says, "howdy, Doc ~ I'll be there ~ you can bet yer boots on it!" (Look out, Lurky! 😉 Gird your loins! 😂)
Have a wonderful evening, dear ones. ❤️

G'evening, all! Checking in briefly before calling it a night. Mike made it home safely and the roads have been cleared enough that we've been able to stay put. He had the day off—well deserved! IMO, he should have the rest of the week off, but no one asked me. He's lost around ten pounds, so I need your recipes more than ever. Otherwise, all is well.
@Rowan72, the Total Gym is excellent. In fact, many PTs use it, so with the correct guidance, it may help Selah out, too. I know routine exercise can be such a bore, but you are right in what you say. It becomes more obvious the older we get. Glad you and your class enjoyed the D.C. trip! I am looking forward to our tour and whatever details work best for the majority is perfectly fine by us.👌 Good luck to Elk (and his dentist) at his app't tomorrow. Then for Mosi on Wed! Have never tried 8:00 coffee, so will add it to the list, along with @agnesann's tip on Newman's Own. Thanks to you both! 😘
I’m getting the unmatched/failure to load messages, too. . . along with the same error and white page of death as @WaJa61 on my Android phone. Add to it a warning of an unsecured website and lots of bounce. 👻 Poltergeists are on a rampage tonight, and I won’t tarry long, as Nan says.
@snappyfrappy, since you enjoy your occasional frapp, I say go for it! Mom loves her Irish coffee, which is way too rich for me—I get the bloat—but to each their own. I hope you do get to go to the seaside village you so enjoy and do a little shopping. Add to your lawn collection. Visit the cafes, breathe in the good salt air! Have you looked into motorized scooters? Could be that someone there even rents them for a day. Many such places do now. I'm enjoying what I get to view of the Olympics, too! Especially the Alpine skiing. I think the U.S.A has 6 gold medals so far—maybe more. Laughing at you and Rowan on your comfy slug sofa, and sure that was Selah's kin who developed a sport of sweeping the ice to move along at a snail's pace! I can hear her now. . . “In the immortal words of Maude, God will get you for that, Marcia Gael!” 🤣 Scariest part of the luge are those “bull horns” up front. Blimey—I always fear they'll flip over onto those suckers! Take care and enjoy the games. Hope you get that rain! 🌧
We love and appreciate you, too, @agnesann. So sorry you're still feeling so poorly. Praying for your very best, dear heart. 🙏
😂 @WaJa61: “Chicken Lithium!” It's over my pay grade—you might ask Jodi, but from all the accumulative data you've supplied and my personal observations, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Your divas and femme fatales typically fall in line with the B-cluster: Histrionic/Borderline/Narcissistic/Antisocial personality disorders. Lithium helps many with Bipolar, but you see that look in her eye? Deviously plotting her next manipulative move to dominate the starring role in that hen house. Roosters best beware, too! Femme fatale written all over her. 😉
I knew you'd be pleased for us. . . Dunno why I waited so long. The housekeeper comes tomorrow for the first time, so naturally I’ve cleaned the whole house this evening! 😜 Didn’t want to scare her off straight away. Thanks, love for the photo. . . We'll all be back there, soon—I can hardly wait!
But FIRST—to Lurky's and (yippee-ki-yay!) with Reuben to fan the flames! 🔥
(She'll get me for this. . . 😈 But I couldn’t resist!)

Hi Snappy lady. Good to see you here. I am looking forward to the holiday weekend. I must say that the "crab feed" was fabulous!!!!!!! So glad that I went. The tickets were $60 and there were 700 people there (a fund raiser). Very organized because the seats were roped off according to how many people in your party, with your name on the table. They first served a delicious salad, then came the garlic bread and I do mean garlic. Then the huge bowls of crab swimming in the most delicious broth--kind of cajun/gumbo style.
Some of the people have been coming to this event for years. My friend Kristen & I sat across from a couple named Gary & Leah. They were old pros. They brought their own seat cushions for the chairs, a huge roll of paper towel, lemon juice & bacterial wipes. After the meal, we poured the lemon juice all over our hands and then used the wipes to take away the scent of the crab. A darling young 20 something girl was sitting next to me and she had on a pair of black plastic gloves--so did a lot of people at her table. She was tiny but she could really eat. The drinks were flowing, and all of the people were really friendly. Some guests brought their own desserts, chips, etc. At the end, the staff cleared off the tables and made room for the dance floor and the band. It was really a fun time.
How is your DD#2 feeling? Hope that she has completely recovered from the flu. See you later.

Hi Rowan, I'm enjoying watching the Olympics with you at the other end of the couch.
Must say, you are a very quiet guest! But, it's nice having you here.
We had rain last night! Real, honest to goodness, rain! Today it's sunny and cool, and we may get more before the week is over. Oh, I pray so. No puddles out there to splash around in.
I love your explanation about the origins of "curling". It does look like sweeping. So we have Selah to thank. Okay.
Can't imagine artificial crab meat, or any other kind of meat. Yuck.
My DDIL was here for a while yesterday. She is walking around quite well after her knee replacement last week. She was going to the doc today and PT begins tomorrow.
She can only have 12 sessions, and doesn't know how much they will cost.
My SIL had 6 months of PT last year when he had the surgery, but he has made a great recovery.
DD and I had eye doc appointments yesterday. Good reports. She has a freckle in her eye and they watch it since she had a melanoma. So far so good. He told me the eye infection I had is gone and wasn't responsible for the bronchitis. Next week I see my PC doc with lots to tell and ask.
Enjoy your day.

Helllo, WaJa, it's lovely to seeyou today. We got rain over night, but there are no puddles in sight. I decided this was a perfect day to put on a pair of pjs hat look like a jog suit.
Who would know? Yesterday about wore both of us out. It was good to get to spend time with my DDIL and see for myself that she is okay, but we had to get up earlier than we would like on a day off for DD, and then we were also anticipating the eye doc visit and the stress for me of needing to drive home. But that worked out just fine. I was calm and not fearful. Have to decide soon what to do about trying to renew my license. Not sure I could pass the eye test, and what would they think when I go there using my walker?
Love reading about the ducks and chickens! Is that a picture of Gracie? What a dolll baby she is. Love the "birds of a feather" cliche. Too true.
There seems to be no end of fun on your farm. It's amazing how the Lord has brought so many of the KS people together there. You are a mother hen yourself.
Say, Agnes, I hope you see the doctor and that he can help you. For sure the Lord can heal you and I pray He will.
Am watching the hocky gave between USA and OAR. We are ahead 4 to 0/
Yipee.
Thank you for remembering me and mine in prayer.

Hi DeLaney, so happy to know your dear hubby made iit home safely and quite agree that he should have the week off. He and his team did great work for the people of PR. Poor things. Am sure he will enjoy eating to regain the pounds he lost.
Grateful the weather allows you to be at home. How nice is that? There's no place like it. I remember so well when you were renting in town and planning the house. Time does fly.
Thanks for the idea about renting a motor scooter. It could happen some day.
Don't think that little village would have them, but larger venues would.
I have a friend who has one. She can go to her bank and hair dresser and a store.
Can't drive anymore because of vertigo.
Our little city has a program for seniors. I would have to look into it and sign up, but if all went well, they will drive a person to anyplace in town for $1. each way. If they would put my walker in and out of the car, it could work for me in the days ahead if I don't get my driver's license renewed. Need guidance about that, and the Lord will give it to me.
