I had a torn retina and emergency surgery for it almost 3 years ago. It was successful and I pray yours will be too.

I wish you the best of every thing. I was about 5 when I had surgeries on a cross eye. It never took. I am 81 now. It held me back from doing many things for I was scared to try. Many things have improved so I pray you will be okay.

I have known many who have had this surgery and had great results. Heal quickly. Do what the dr. says.

@halfpint1 , I had the same surgery at five. I have never had depth perception. I have done everything I have wanted to do, but with a bit of caution. Tennis was fun but couldn't play doubles. Not allowed to fly a plane, but had no interest anyway.

@shortbreadlover , Did they not do laser surgery on you? I had a torn retina several years ago, in fact I had to have it done twice, the first time fluid got up under the repair, and they had to redo it, but after that it has been fine, I have even had cataract surgery since then! I wish you the best!
