Wow! did you bring back some wonderful memories.  I used to those those necklaces.  I had some in multiples colors and loved to pop them open and closed.  Thanks for such a great memory.

Hey, I'm sure that they now can make them in very interesting patterns and beautiful colors.  Tie dye, dots, paisley, etc.

Hey, even Amazon has them.  All sorts of ' pop 'snap' beads '. 

Gee, I hadn't thought of them until O/P asked us.

Interesting how we got a thrill out of the simplest things........kind of refreshing.

I remember pop beads! I spent hours popping and unpopping them into every size imaginable. I think I had several colors.

We used thick yarn as hair-ties and headbands.

Oh, the yarn thing around the class ring when we went steady --- I forgot all about that!  I had such tiny fingers and the rings were huge and heavy, I had to put a ton of yard around mine.  Very cumbersome!  I remember at first I just used plain old yarn that my mother had.  Then, I was able to get some baby blue angora yarn and used that instead.  I thought I was really something then!!!
