From the 5 semi precious ( amethyst - garnet - peridot - blue topaz and citrine) that QVC always seems to sell what is your favorite? I am eyeing a ring and can't decide on which stone I want to get. I wear more blue but I also have a couple blue topaz rings - I have a garnet & diamond ring DH gave me for our 25th - I don't wear much purple but when I do I have a very prtty deep amethyst color ring which leaves me with peridot or citrine and I am just not crazy about those two. My favorite is garnet which is convenient as it is also my birthstone. We were married in Feb so amethyst is good for an anni ring. Oh decisions , decisions.

I guess of those choices I would go with amethysts. If it were me I would check aquamarine

I love aquas too - I have an aquamarine cross with a lot of filigree my parents gave me for Christmas one year - it is so beautiful.

If you really don't care for the citrine or the peridot, then it makes no sense to buy those. On the other hand, you may like one of them once you see it in person.
For me, I love color, color, color. With semi-precious stones, I prefer a multi-colored piece......it's just more interesting to me. None of the stones you mentioned actually are my favorites. I love colored sapphires, opals, and ammolite the most. I never tire of them.......and just because I already had a ring of a particular gem, that would not stop me from getting another one in a different design!

It would be amethyst. It was my mothers birthstone. I do not have one but would like one. Maybe for Christmas. Hers was lost.

My favorite is a diamond......but of the ones you mentioned....i would say garnet!

Blue topaz

Tanzanite. The older stones with vibrant colors. Not the new stuff you see these days.

ditto for the blue topaz. don't the hosts always say the blue stones are the most popular?

None of the above. I don't care for any of those stones with the exception of amethyst and I only like Bolivian Amethyst. I don't even own any of those semi precious stones. And I have a lot of jewelry. My "favorite" stone changes. Right now, it's aquamarine. It's my birthstone but I never liked it (too wishy washy) until I discovered JTV's brand name aqua. Sorry, I don't remember what the brand name is now but it is a crisp, clear, sparkly blue. Like gem quality aqua. You don't have to pretend you see blue. It's blue and it looks great in sterling silver. I keep looking for a big (think 3ct) pair of stud earrings to add to my aqua growing collection. Before that. I was living in my pearl jewelry and last winter you couldn't get me out of my sapphires. I don't know where my heart will take me next... The emeralds maybe or tanzanite. I should say that I have been collecting jewelry for over 30 years and I also inherited some pieces from my mom and my aunt and a lot of my pieces are in sterling. I'm not hanging out at Tiffany's...lol
