Why take any chances? I would wait until everyone that is ill gets better & less contagious. IMO your hubby needs to stay at home until he is diagnosed and treated and where he can rest from his cluster headaches.

@Drythe, I cannot imagine the -ell you have been through. But so happy for you that you kept on trying to find the help you needed. I do hope you are pain free today!!!
I know how hard it is, but...
a person can never give up trying to find relief. Long story here. My SIL started with weird symptoms in his head after they had been married only about 7 months. Docs in CT detected a mass at the top of his spine.
Several docs at Yale were conflicted as to how to get in for a sample. Enough is enough - time was marching on.
He went to Mass General - wonderful, gifted neurosurgeon there said he suspected was a benign mass, not cancer. We went up with them for his surgery. This surgeon, and ENT surgeon, reached the site by entirely going thru SIL’a nose.
Was benign, was given steroids, never to appear again even after 6 years now. We stayed in Boston for a number of days, at a hotel near Mass General. I remember the fright of it all and the bitter cold and wind.
Goes to prove you have to advocate for yourself, sadly. So happy you did so.
@Mindy, hope you can find some relief for your DH, somewhere, somehow.
And you have to take exposure risk to C diff very seriously. My late mother contracted it in a nursing home near the end of her life. But that story could be a book in itself.

@Mindy D Are you kidding?? Stay home!!

Me and DD are going to my brothers house for T-day--but they are in our bubble and we all have been vaccinated and probably will have the booster as well, by then. But my other brother will not be there--they are in a different bubble and we won't mix for awhile--they are vaccinated but have a few of SIL family that are anti vaccers---so will stay away from them. Very sad and maddening---

I hope you make the decision to stay home. C-diff is nothing to mess around with, I cared for a lady on hospice who had it and she suffered horribly. Nothing could have saved her after many months of trying.

@Drythe @Sorry about your migraines. I had severe migraines myself. Totally disabling. Fortunately, I found relief with menopause. I'm glad the Sumatriptan injections worked for you.
My husband has tried sumatriptan, oral. It was sold as Imitrex when he first began using it. He has tried it over the years. He did not get relief. We are reevaluating medicines he has tried before to see if newer treatment protocols might help. After he takes care of his abdominal issue, we'll be trying to see a cluster headache specialist at University of Miami. We'll be discussing the Sumatriptan injections. My husband did have a cardiac reaction to another Triptan, Naratriptan (Amerge), requiring the paramedics, so that will play into the revaluation.

@wagirl @It's not the vx that worries me. It's the C. diff infection.

I'm sure you know the answer. Stay home. It's a no brainer.

I didn't read all the posts, but the ones I did read seemed to say no. And I agree with that.
Regardless of the 'what ifs' that could happen to your relatives--and that you missed the opportunity to get a visit in, what about your DH and your own health?
Your husband doesn't seem well enough to make this trip and it could be made worse by catching something.
We're talking more than covid now. C Diff isn't very good either.
I'm surprised your relative is even planning something given her pretty sad health situations.
