I went to a well known grocery store today and bought a few things for the work week.I bought fresh veggies and fruit. When I cut into a watermelon it was nothing but mush, not to mention it had seeds. It was advertised as a seedless melon.I pd. 5.99 for it.It is now in my trash.Ive never taken food back, but feel like Ive ripped 5.99 in half
Just wondering what you would do
Everyone,have a great work week

@Luvsmyfam Absoutely take it back. They can't tell if it was bad when they sold it just like you coudn't tell it was bad when you bought it.

Maybe take a picture and show them next time you go there, that is what my sams club wants customers to do with bad food.

I would call the store and tell them about it. Often, they won't want you to bring it back, they'll ask you to come in with a receipt and credit you.
It's exactly what I do.

I would not.

Perhaps call the store and tell them what happened instead of bringing it back - especially since it just happened today.

In the scope of life it's just a watermelon. I would probably toss it and forget about it, and it wouldn't cross my mind to wonder what anyone else would do. It's just a watermelon. Nobody can see into it. Stuff happens. Give others the benefit of the doubt the first few times anyway.

I probably would have called the grocery store and told them. Some grocery stores tell you to bring the item in while others tell you to throw it out and they would ask you your name and tell you to come to their customer service area for a credit next time you're in the store, and maybe others might tell you to take a picture of it and they take your name at the courtesy service for a credit or refund. Each store is different in how they handle refunds or credits on bad items.

Yes I would.
