Would you ride in a robotaxi?

I would love to answer yes but in reality I don't think I would, yet. So let's say in 5 years they are ready for prime time. Would you ride in one?

After watching ameteur videos of the recent release onto the streets of Austin, uh, nope.

 

Here in MI, GM recently shelved  their autonomous vehicle plans after a veicle was struck from behind while at a stop light. The autonomous vehicle became disoriented and struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. 

 

In big cities like Detroit I prefer the safety of a genuine professional taxi or car service. These people know their way around tricky situations. 

 

I'll save bumper cars for the amusement park.

No, we don't even take Uber or Lyft.  Licensed, "yellow" taxis only for us and fortunately we live in a big city that has plenty of them.
