The woman who was kissed by an ecstatic sailor in Times Square celebrating the end of World War II has died at the age of 92 . . .

Re: Woman in iconic image dies

I remember seeing that snapshot when I was a young boy and it was the end of WWII. Seems like that has been fixed in my brain since I first saw it.

For an unknown, she and the sailor got a lot of notoriety, from that unplanned event.

Condolences to all that love her, I hope she had a lot of happiness during her many years of life.

I think that picture was used on a Regents test! I know it's been shown about as much as any picture I can think of! Such a happy picture! I hope she had a happy life to match it!

May she know (I'm sure she does) how much warmth and relief she brought to many by that photo.
