Has anyone ever done this. I'm not all that savvy on computer and have never done this before. Is it best to let someone else do it? Anywhere safe I could take it and trust?

I did that twice with two different desktops. I bought wipe software on a disc b/c both desktops had disc drives in them. Removed everything including operating system and all. That left completely blank drives, no operating systems either.

If I 'clean' my system to sell it I would make sure that the operating system is still in place or it may have little or no value to a buyer.

It's not difficult to reload an operating system back onto a device. I've done it a couple of times.

Do you have apple or android devices?
If you have apple - Back up your device first. Then Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.

Ladies, husband bought me a new laptop yesterday! I am on it now and everything looks like Greek to me!!! My daughter and son-in-law just set it up for me last night. I've never owned a lap top before. My other was a desk about 12 yrs. old. We are having someone else who knows what they are doing wipe the old computer clean. Thanks so much for your imput..... sorry to have put you
to the trouble of answering me. Since my
stroke two yrs.ago... which left me with significant short term memory, I am doubting my ability to do this but my family wants me to try before I give up computers com-
pletly . We shall see!! I hope I can do it. It just took me a half hour to type this post..... ugh.

Hi @jubilant
Couldnt tell anything but perfect on this end. ![]()
Must be nice to have so many ppl who love & take good care of you. ![]()
(added: BTW, I find it less awkward, more familiar to me, to easily set up a wireless mouse for use on my laptop, just like the old desktop puters I was used to. If that is more comfortable, familiar for you.

@JoyFilled Warrior My daughter did suggest that I get a wireless mouse and it is so much easier. Thank you for thinking of me and for this kind post.
