I don't think I ever owned a car that had a cassette player.  Did they even exist?  I went from 8 track to stereo to CD and now they don't exist!

And I just bought a new vehicle last week and don't even know how to work it, honestly.

I have enough trouble with drive and reverse and making sure I turn the darn thing off before I get out! (Which I failed to do at Lowe's last week the same day I got it!)

Oh - for sure!  This was an important "surgical tool" back in the day -- and I well remember doing this many, many times!

Re: Who Knew One Would Be Used In An Emergency?

I remember when I got divorced many, many years ago, I couldn't afford my sports car and bought a new Dodge Omni (it even had crank windows). My only request was a radio and a stick shift. They only had one with a stick shift so I bought that. Anyhow, I had a little tape recorder and taped some records and used that for my music. Later, my dad picked me up a "Spark O Matic" radio and the radio guy at work installed it for me. My 2019 Sportage has a CD player, but I rarley use it because I only drive a couple miles a week to the store. I play an oldies A.M. station that comes in well.

@Lucky Charm   I'm so there with you....way too much technology on my new car. I've had it a month (traded the 8 month old Subaru with "issues") and have had 2 lessons at the dealer with this one and still not sure.

Yesterday with all the rain, I needed the front defroster...where the heck is it? I had to pull over and look for the "pics"...no words anywhere. I finally found it and was on my way. No radio channels set..AM, FM, etc....no CD player, but Spotify option. Huh? Not even thinking about that!! I found a relaxing classical music staion and set it so it comes on with the "Hello Shanus" and my pic on the dash when the car door opens w/o a key! Getting used to keyless.

@Shanus     I just got a new hot water tank with a "brain".  It has been programmed to produce hot water "when it is most used".

I suppose that is fine for the "average folks"........but I worked GRAVEYARD......and my circadian rhythm will probably be wacky for the rest of my life.

So....when I want to shower....the hot water is "sleeping."     di
