5 year anniversary of her death.  She had the most beautiful voice and lost it to drugs.   Such a shame  and so tragic.  I hope she has now found peace.

How strange you posted this. I was thinking about her tonight, not realizing it was the anniversary of her passing. They are doing a musical play of the body guard in Canada, and I watched a commercial for it

The star had a nice voice ,but it didn't compare to Whitney's

Her voice was like a golden bell. It was such a shame about the drugs. I wonder if she would have found a different mate, if her story would have been a happier one?

What a waste of a life.

And Bobbie Kristina as well.

Sad.

A horrible loss. I used to spend quite a bit of time in the neighborhood where she lived when her daughter was a little girl.

She was loved and cared for as a pleasant neighbor, and was really loved as a mom and housewife. Some of her neighbors could notice a big difference in her demeanor when Bobby was in the house.

This was the first Christmas since her loss that I could bring myself to watch "The Preacher's Wife". She was absolutely luminous. I'm sure I'll never tire of watching her in it.

I always hope that her tragedies will serve as a warning to women in comparable situations, and I also hope that she knows how much she was appreciated in the time we knew her.

That lady had a voice like none  other--truly amazing. "The Bodyguard" was

recently at our Performing Arts Center. Such a tragic ending for such a beautiful  and talented lady.

I remember, years ago, driving to work and the radio station played her singing the Star Spangled Banner from a weekend ballgame. I had tears running down my face from the beautiful voice of hers and that song. No one has come close to her and that song since.

So sad that she is gone.

Big whoop dee doo.  There are a lot of amazing singers in this world, some known and some unknown.  There's nothing special about beng able to sing.  She was lucky to be born into a professional family of singers and that gave her step up in the world.  She was fortunate in that she her talent was recognized and nutured and that the public loved her.  She had it all; talent, wealth, fame and she CHOSE to risk it for drugs.  It didn't just "happen" to her; she made that choice and she destroyed herself.  which would have been fine with me.  But unfortunately the true tragedy of her sorry life is that she destroyed her child.  With a mother like that, that little girl never had a chance at life.  That's the only tragedy in the Whitney Houston story.

Such a waste. My mother was in the hospital after a fall so I remember where I was when I heard the news. Both Whitney and her daughter could have had beautiful, rich lives but drugs led them elsewhere...to death. So sad.
