No one is ever too old to say Mommy or Daddy, Mom or Dad. Wait until they're gone. I always said Mom but have heard myself saying Mommy a few times since she died (Thanksgiving 2017). I talk to her every day - sometimes it's Mom and a few times it's been Mommy. She was my best friend, confidant, and mom. I miss her more than words can say and sometimes feel lost without her.

As long as a husband doesn't call his WIFE "mother" or "Mommy", I think it's probably OK...
Just part of kidults today failing to grow into adults.
If I called my mother MOMMY after age 8 I would have been embarrassed.

I had an elderly aunt and uncle who called each other “Mommy” and “Daddy.” It seemed odd but endearing at the same time. They had a couple little Chihuahua dogs and they were definitely their babies and they were mommy and daddy to them.
