This reminds me of that John Candy movie "Only the Lonely" in which his girlfriend (fiance) was a makeup artist for a funeral director. She tried to make the deceased look like movie stars. Hilarious!

That was a good movie with good actors @PA Mom-mom .  Here's a little info for those interested in watching:

Only the Lonely is a 1991 American romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Chris Columbus, produced by John Hughes, and stars John Candy, Maureen O'Hara, Ally Sheedy, Anthony Quinn, and James Belushi

I had an aunt who would never sleep with out her false teeth in case something happened! Don't know if they were in when she died.

Me.. I told my kids if they "display" me for people to gawk at..I will haunt them for the rest of their lives! Or I tell them to save chocolate donut boxes..so they could all have a box of my dust!

I had another aunt with a great sense of humor always..We she passed...her daughters had them playing "Return to Sender" at the funeral home..Some thought it was horrible..but family loved it...I have a crazy family!

DH and I decided to be cremated.  Do they do that before or after the funeral?  I guess my boys could have a viewing, then have us turned to ashes and placed into our rock later.  Or do it before the funeral and then have a service at our rock.  I guess we will talk about that at some point.  I don't care what I look like when I go.  My body will look well used!

usually before. At least in my son's case

My DH before he died said cremate me, no funeral, just a small gathering of family and a few close friends - and that is what we did.  His ashes sat on the hutch wiith a can of his favorite beer atop of a beer placemat.  I'll do the same but without the beer - hate beer.  Maybe a can of root beer lol.
