We eat somewhere between 5 and 6 pm usually. Sometimes when my daughter has sports we'll eat earlier, or slightly later, but I insist we eat 99% of the time as a family around the table. No phones or electronics allowed.
But my favorite thing to do (and we don't get to do it often) is have a big, multi course meal around 3pm, either home or out. Then have a light snack later.

Wow. I don't even get home from work until 5 or 6. I get into comfy clothes and then start supper. We eat between 7 and 8. DH gets home anywhere between 5:30 and 6:30, occasionally 7:00.

@sunshine45 Yes I guess the later dinners are the working people..Enjoy dinner whenever it works because I always think it is family time

We are retired but I cannot eat breakfast so we eat a late lunch so dinner is usually around 7 pm. if we dine out it is usually around 7 or 7:30.

When I was working I didn't get home until 8 PM or often much later. I had to get up at 4:30 to go back so I rarely ate , just quick shower & go to bed. I kept putting on weight & the doctor said it was because I wasn't eating and my body would go into starvation mode and slow my metabolism way down - then it takes a few days of regular meals to reset it. So I started taking trail mix to work with me to grab handfuls through the day so my body would not think I was starving.Oddly this made me very hungry all the time.
Now I am retired I rarely eat breakfast , just coffee and a piece of toast or an english muffin. We have lunch at noon and dinner at 5:30 every day.I'm rarely ever actually hungry - which is a wonderful thing after all the years of work & being half starved most of the time.

I usually take my dog to the park until 6, so dinner is usually around 7. I eat a late lunch- around 1:30-2:00.

It's not written in stone, but I aim for about 7. I prefer not to eat earlier unless I've skipped lunch and am combining lunch and dinner.

Growing up my father would come home from work everyday like clockwork at 5:15 pm. The plastic pocket protector would come out of his shirt pocket and he would wash up for dinner. It would be on the table 5 minutes later.....every single day.
I'm not my mother. My husband and I don't have a set time but it's usually between 6&7. If we go out it might be later but then there are times when we don't want to deal with crowds on a weekend and if it's just the two of us we might go out early around 5 or 5:30.
