Re: What the hosts do to sell

It is a very lame and lazy method of selling.  They are supposed to be telling us the attributes of the products so we can decide if we want to buy or not.

What a host does, buys or owns is of no interest to me.

The product is the star.  Not the show host.

Many hosts think [or have been told] they are celebrities.  They aren't.

We have choices.  Don't have to watch or listen; product information is online.  The hosts are just doing their job the best way they can.

Yes, it's a shame they can't present the products without making fools of themselves, but I bet the person behind the scenes is egging them on. How far they all have fallen, I remember when presentations were a pleasure to watch.

Re: What the hosts do to sell

I haven’t watched in years now...only online I sometimes check to see what has been on earlier. I don’t buy anything when hosts resort to high pressure tactics or sound desperate....how they own one in every color, size, and style...so does their mom, dad, and every other family member, etc......click!

Turn it off if you think it's that bad.  Watching is your choice.

Re: What the hosts do to sell

The problem is, most of the products are so uninspiring and repetitive, that the hosts are forced to use hype and hard-sell to attempt to move the items. I don't fall for that. Usually I can't even watch anymore.

Re: What the hosts do to sell

I really dislike it when the host will call to their producer, "Can you order me a (color choice) in an XXS (as most claim to be).

It is distracting and unprofessional.  Plus, they are supposed to let the customers get first dibs before they purchase something.  If they want it ahead of time, order before the show.  They know what is coming up and have seen it so they should know if they want it or not.

Your solution is laughable.

The point of having a broadcast is to get us to watch!

As for them doing their best?

Sorry, no.  Many have done this job way better than we are seeing right now.

Again, a hilarious post.

The point of being on the air is having people watch, NOT change the channel!
