Did she make them with milk gravy, or plain?

My grandad used to slather his with "Blackstrap Molasses" which I have never tasted Cat LOL

But he always referred to "cathead" biscuits which, I assume, were big biscuits Cat LOL

I adore biscuits by the way!  That's a nice memory.

For me it would be the music from the 70’s. Rock, ballads any type really. It was that good. And a perfume I love the aroma of Cachet.

Music always makes me nostalgic.  Visiting places where I spent vacations and met so many people, spending time with my close friends and laughing over our childhood memories together, all make me nostalgic.

DH refers to the biscuits his grandmother made as "cat head" biscuits.  That is a term used for large biscuits in NC.

Re: What makes you nostalgic for the past?

I'm another who can't stand to look at old photos.  My DH was a film editor and he had all our old movies transferred to digital. I've never watched them.

I get nostalgic when I watch my DIL with my granddaughter.  She's such a good mother. It makes me wish I could go back and get another shot at it - a chance to do it better, but I raised two good men so I must have done something right.

@Witchy Woman She would make milk gravy occasionally when we had them for breakfast with sausage, and brown gravy with onions with dinner meals. I would give ANYTHING for one now.😊

While I'm not a fan of milk gravy, it always looked delicious.  He would fry sausage and make it with the pan drippings.  Yikes!

My sis loves it and we still talk about grandad's gravy and biscuits.

I never learned how to make them, but still love them.  Food holds powerful memories, doesn't it?
