@scatcat, all of the things you mentioned are man made social constructs.  We do have "free will."  With that free will, it assumed that we take that free will and not create such conditions here on earth.  Just an opinion.....

I don't know, I'm no philosopher. I think to lead a useful life, be kind and be a good steward of the earth. If you can do that, maybe you will leave the earth a little better than you found it

   @scatcat  In my younger days I never thought much about it.  After my hubby passed , I now question.  We   work all our lives to get what we want to leave it all here. 

What about hurricanes, Volcanos, Tornado's etc.  All the innocent people that die.  All the children that lives are wisked away?   I just don't get it.  I want to , but I don't.

well, my purpose is to save and care for as many cats (and other animals) as possible, and teach my Son to be kind and compassionate (which I have) and to be a good role model for my Grand-kids
