Re: What do you consider Old Lady clothes?

I don't pay any attention to silly talk like that.  I don't know what people mean when they say that.  I think it's just a way to whack at QVC.   My niece is 27 and she shops here.  My bff is 80 and she shops here.  My girls are in their thirties and they shop here.  There's something for everyone.  I do find that the different age groups wear and style their clothing differently.

I find this thread to be insulting to old ladies.   Let's discuss young ladies that wear their clothes skin tight and let's not forget the long stringy hair. And to say old ladies aren't current ... well I beg to differ.  I live in an over 55 community and no one here is frumpy.

For me not much really.  It just depends on how you wear stuff.

But some stuff like Stretchy polyester.  Loud big zigzagy, geometrical colorful prints.  Big flowered prints.  Skorts.  Capries.  Running shoes with capries.  Big tote-like slouchy handbags.

Re: What do you consider Old Lady clothes?

I think I've read all the replies in this thread.

I have to say, I'm surprised there's anything that we can wear that doesn't qualify for "old lady" clothes.

It seems the entire line of so many well-known brands have been added to the heap.  Plus, elbow-length sleeves on teeshirts?  Who knew?

Sparkles and embroidery are out; fabric blends (polyester?  spandex? rayon?) are out.  Large floral prints.  Small floral prints.  Stripes.  Color matching.  Seersucker.  Flat shoes.  Sneakers (Keds?).

Well, gosh, the list seems endless.  Perhaps we should all join a nudist colony and give up on clothes entirely.  Then what would we find to criticize?  Hmmm...doesn't bear thinking about!  Woman Surprised

I honestly don't think most people pay much attention to what those over 50 are wearing.

Why do you care so much about your appearance?  Why do you feel the need to be "current"?  Seems putting so much emphasis on your appearance to the point of degrading others is sad.

Interesting to think that because someone cares about her appearance that degrades someone else.  Not true IMO.  Why don't people understand that like it or not, what you wear projects who you think you are?  I am a positive, life-loving, confident person and how I look, dress, act, and speak should project that image simply because it's who I am.

How others perceive the style of clothing that you chose shouldn't matter, it's how you put it all together and wear it with confidence.
