I used to believe all those stories that since China was on the other side of the world you could dig to it. So off I'd go with my little shovel day after day, digging until I was sure someone could hear me. Well someone did hear me...

We ran and played in the streets and the play grounds like little wild animals. We played all the usual kid games and never had to worry about the boggie man back then.

No one played kick the can? All the neighborhood kids did. With my girlfriends we played horses and with Barbie (I had the dream house) all the time!

threecees--never heard of your games. Maybe they were not around in the 40's or 50's. 80 years old here.
We did play the usual and kick the can someone questioned.
There was a park near by with swings and teeters.

played with a Red Rider wagon, it was a stagecoach, ambulance, race car. Multipurpose vehicle you could say.

Sit down for this one - when I grew up with 2 sis sibs as well the neighborhood kids, we made things up to do, to play. No one got hurt, we all got along, we put our imaginations to work, we had much fun and we most if not all of our games outside.
