Re: What are you doing out of the ordinary this summer?

I'm moving this August, out of my townhouse into a one-level apartment.

My 92 yr. old mother (she'll be 93 in August) successfully made it through a very scary health issue a couple of months ago.  She lives out of state from me and my sister, but we have the support of cousins who can check on her when we aren't there.  But of course life happens, and now my cousins' parents need them for 24/7 care, so it can be overwhelming for everyone.

Mom does not want to move, but I told her she would enrich my life so much if she'd consider living with me.  She doesn't want anyone to change their life for her.  But when I told her I am still moving into a 1-level apartment, in the same development where I already live now (and my mom loves), she got a spark in her eye!  It's a fabulous apartment with a large outdoor patio overlooking the pool.  Even if she still does not move in, it's a great apartment.  She's coming to visit for Labor Day.

Re: What are you doing out of the ordinary this summer?

I’ll be recovering from pneumonia. I have finally turned the corner and hope to be over and done with this within the next few weeks. I am still tired, winded, coughing, but much better than I was a week ago. I am under the care of my internist and an infectious disease specialist. It has been a rough couple of weeks but I hope the worst is over.
