I got the shock of my life over the weekend -- before my husband passed he, my sons and niece planned me a surprise 70th birthday!

They told me I needed to come home for my birthday but never imagined they'd planned a party!  

It was overwhelming to have all my family & friends there to celebrate!  What a way to enter the next chapter.

They did a "flamingo" theme and everyone wore their flamingo/tropical attire to the bbq.

The great moments just keep coming.  He was definitely looking down on them (and me) they were putting balloons outside & 1 got away up to the heavens...we all laughed he wanted to make sure he was there😍🎈  Sadly, this week marks a year of his passing 😢 which will be difficult.

It is obvious how much your family loves you!

I love the flamingo theme, the cookies are so sweet and that cake looks delicious.

I'm so sorry your husband wasn't there to share it with you but may the loving support of your family give you comfort. Your loss is still raw...

@homedecor1  Happy 70th Birthday to you, Homedecor1 !  That  was so sweet of your husband, sons and niece to take the time in advance to plan you a very special and festive 70th birthday.  The cookies and cake are so beautifully decorated and I really like the tropical plants and flamingo theme.  I am so sorry about your husband's passing- rest assured that he is watching over you and the one balloon floating to the sky was very touching and a nice sign of him watching over you and I bet it made you and your guests smile.  You are loved and treasured and you're also very much loved, enjoyed and cared about on these forums too.  I wish you a very Happy Birthday and I'm glad that you had a lot of fun!
