Gone far too soon and a huge loss.

Sammy Davis, Jr. Only saw him once in Vegas. My loss!

Great answers my friends! I was thinking of Tom Petty & Eddie Money but also all our comedians that give us joy and make us laugh! John Pinette, Richard Jeni, Bernie Mac, Ralphie May, Richard Pryor, Gilda Radner and so many more.
Richard Pryor is the only famous person I ever sent a card to and it was when he was in the hospital after his burn accident. For some reason our local news channel gave the hospital name and we looked up the address.

James Gandolfini
James played mob boss Tony Soprano in the series 'The Sopranos". His character was a despicable person, yet Gandolfini was able to portray a very different individual even while committing murder. Even though Tony was disgusting, Gandolfini was able to make him likable. It's very sad that we won't see any more of Gandolfini's amazing talent.

John Wayne, Audie Murphy, Randolph Scott, Donald O'Conner, Gene Kelly, James Cagney, Jimmy Stewart and last but not least Mickey Rooney

That would be George Carlin
I agree and only WISH I could hear what he would say today...
It's funny, I've been thinking about this subject in terms of music since I've gotten Amazon Music.
Find myself listening to favorites of deceased musicians and saying to myself "Bless you for sharing your talent with us".
Sinatra to Freddie Mercury to Whitney Houston to Ronny Van Zant to Michael Jackson and many, many more.
Can't even begin with comedians and/or actors, writers, etc.
They will forever live on and bring us joy.

Some of these replies are a tad bit condescending.

George Michael, I miss this man so much, my heart is broke. I truly am his number one fan.
