Re: What Do You Want for Christmas?

@goldensrbest, I know what it feels like to be left out.  Maybe you can let them know how much it would mean to you to spend more time with them and how it would make your heart happy.

She's not feeling sorry for herself ... she's expressing her wish.  Try some kindness toward others.

Time.  Just time.  I haven't had any time off in over 20 years, running a small family business.  I don't need to go on vacation.  I simply want time off.

Awww ... take some time for yourself.  I hope you relax and have some downtime.  Be well.

I assume, you mean REAL presents and not world peace or clean oceans.  Hubby has been asking me what I want for weeks now and I just don't know.  I kinda have everything I want it need.  Plus we moved into a new condo a couple of months ago; we agreed to spend just $100 on each other.  I found some cute Lamo boots, I put them on my wish list.  I want them in navy and I want a big chunky navy scarf.  I'll email the item numbers to hubby today.

I hope you get your gifts and they keep you warm and toasty.  I'm sure you'lll think of your hubby when you wear them.

What a nasty and inappropriate response, especially considering the topic of the thread, and the season.

There are indeed many who have grown children, and wish desperately to see more of them and be included more in their lives. My own mother has this same issue with my brother, and being an empty nester for the first holiday season, I feel the pain of goldenr.

To all who read these posts, I wish you good health, much love from friends and family, and a little empathy for others who share openly here.

Re: What Do You Want for Christmas?

The problem, in a way, with thread titles like this one is that at the beginning, a poster is never sure how to take it or which direction it will go, and if you post the "wrong" response you will get creamed. Not saying the OP of this thread intended that, but it happens here all the time.

You can respond "world peace" or "a new car" and both might be 'wrong' depending on what most other people end up answering, and people will judge you as unrealistic or too materialistic.

Or you can share honest feelings and someone will be sure to rip you a new one.  Wait....oh yeah, that happens pretty much in any thread ;-(

I want all animals to be happy.

And for people, I'd like to see them couch their hopes, dreams, and wants as positives.

You know the song says, "You've got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, and don't mess with Mr. In-Between."  Just sayin'.
