Re: What 3 Things Do You Remember About Your Mother?

Interesting question. My mother, at age 96, still is alive. She is blind, has stage 4 cancer, and has dementia.  The reason the question is interesting is that over the last few years, especially the last nine months, I have been one of her caregivers. She is at home.

Before more recently, I would have said she was demanding, disorganized, and did not believe in bathing or washing her clothing much. She just applied cologne. Those who knew my mom throughout most of her life always said it "was her way or the highway."

However, now I would say that she rarely complains, seems appreciative, and can express the soft side of her. It has been an emotional blessing to have her here yet and to be able to help care for her.
