Re: What 3 Things Do You Remember About Your Mother?

She was always there to comfort and guide me during what I thought were hard times.  Little did I know the real hard times were yet to come.

She didn't follow the crowd, was and is her own thinker, very sensible and logical.

My Mother was and still is very pretty, fashionable, and always concerned about her weight.

1. Always took time to dress nice and said she never felt

dressed w/o her red lipstick and earrings on!!

2.  The love on her face when she would talk about my

dad who passed some years earlier then her.  He took

     such good care of us.

3.  She was always there for me......Mom and best friend.

[ Edited ]

1) overly critical

2) not very supportive

3) contributed to my decision not to have children

But in her defense, her mother, my grandmother, was the same way maybe worse.  As I read somewhere, "you can't give what you never got."

Have to say something positive--she was a good seamstress and made some of my clothes.

Sorry for this but.....

She was mean

She was selfish

She hated animals (she used to kick our cat.)

She was the best cook.

She always made time and would stop what she was doing if we needed help or wanted anything.

She worked hard and never rested very much or took time for herself....worked herself into an early grave at age 62.

I wish I had her mental strength, she was a very simple person, never asked for much.

She loved to laugh.

She loved to crochet and made beautiful tablecloths, doilies, etc.

Re: What 3 Things Do You Remember About Your Mother?

She (and my dad) sacrificed a lot for my brothers & me...if there was money to be spent, it was spent on us!

She couldn't "get" a joke to save her life! We always had to explain them to her.

She was beautiful.

She's been gone for 14 years, and I miss her every day, along with my MIL, who was really a 2nd mother to me.

Re: What 3 Things Do You Remember About Your Mother?

Whenever anyone speaks of my mother, they always remember her as being kind, I agree.  She was very generous to those in need and a caring loving mom who had patience and understanding, a blessing to all who knew her.
