We put our bluebird boxes out a couple of weeks ago and boy, are the bluebirds giving them lots of attention!

We put 2 boxes out and usually have 2 nests with 5 eggs each, per box, per season.

It's so much fun to watch these little birds feed, hatch and fledge their babies!

I also love that Daddy bluebird is the one who does 'diaper duty', LOL!

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

@KingstonsMom How exciting. I don't think a bluebird has ever visited my yard. The temps have dropped here and we had snow over the weekend. About a week or so ago when it was feeling a bit more like Spring, the two birdhouses that I have hanging from the soffitt over the patio were getting some action by 2 male sparrows. I feel so bad for the males. They practically beg for a mate.

Hi IG, Lucky you having Bluebirds. It's our state bird, Missouri, and I haven't ever seen one of them in our yard, even before all the developement of this area, north of the city of St.Louis. I've seen them in some of the counties south of St. Louis but none here.. Indigo Buntings come now and then. What an intense blue color they have.
