I joined WW in Dec. 2015 when the smart points was new. I have been very successful, and love the versatility of the program. This program is one that can be lived with very comfortably for a lifetime, which really is key to any diet plan. I have been familiar with WW for many years. It really is in my opinion number one.

Agree - I hit goal back in the 80s; but I need to lose about 40 pounds again.  I recently moved and found an old Points Finder (slide wheel that u lined up the calories, fiber, and  fat and it'd give you ur points).  I have gone back more than a few times since  that old program from the 80s and I didn't stick with it.  That old program appears to be the one that I can follow best - I can't find the old books that showed how many points per day I should be striving to eat but I believe I can work with what I have.  Guessing I may be able to find some info on the old old program if I google deep enough!

@Financialgrl  I did a Google search. There was info there plus suggestions to check amazon and ebay for books and calculators. Hope you find what you want.

I did WW years ago when it was very sensible, fish 5 times a week, (I would eat tuna) and liver a couple of times a week, that was before that found out it had lots of fat in it.  I started Nutrisystem, and some of the food is good and some of it is awful!  I basically found out, that Nutrisystem is basically a 1200 calorie a day diet, with lots of protein, low-fat, and high fiber.  If you just follow that, you can lose weight!  I started WW twice under their new system and I just could not stay on tract it was too consuming!

@Hooty,The "new system" has increased the calories because people complained about the food plan being "too restrictive"!  They want their cake and to eat it too (and lose weight!!!)!  No wonder you couldn't lose weight!  Go figure.

I was on WW back in the 80's, I wish I had kept all the recipes, etc.

I couldn't eat everything on the menu and I lost weight.

I went back on it a few years ago when the fruit was free.   I was always hungry and stuffing myself with fruit.   Wasn't working.  Then I went on a different program, Naturally Slim and lost 20 lbs in about 3 months and felt like it was a better program in the long run.

It taught me the metabolism of food in my body.  I'm no longer on any program and I can still stand to lose 20 more lbs but I've had so many (unrelated) health challenges in the past year, I haven't stayed focused.

I do like drinking healthy smoothies in the morning.  Keeps me from eating donuts or other sweets for breakfast.

Good luck with your weight loss.   Processed sugar is the enemy.

@Katcat1,The 80's program is in my post.  What else would you like to know?

I made the soup, and froze half.

I think I'm moving to a plate of sauteed vegies and leaving the frozen soup for winter.  I like that so much better!  I may add one starch at 1/2 cup serving.

Okra, French green beans, fresh mushrooms, spinach or kale, onions, fresh tomato, squash, and bamboo shoots, maybe 1/4 C of corn.  A little soy, worcheschire, and garlic.  Done!  I could eat a plate of that easily!  We didn't do that in the '80's!!!
