My sister's mother in law had the same issue, she survived with a few long lasting complications...but she lived and is still alive today into her 80's!

.... a friend of my Father's had two brain aneurysms and was in dire shape....  they were worried about pneumonia and relieving pressure in his brain.  

He made it.... and he became strong again!  It can happen.

My prayers and thoughts for his total recovery.....

A good friend of ours had the same thing happen about 10 years ago.  He is alive and well today, although it did take some time to recover.

Sending prayers for a full healing for your freind John. May he be surrounded with legions of angels and feel "carreid" by the many prayers all here are sending.
