Re: We're all a little Irish in the March 2019 Bird's Nest

Two of my favorite things,  apricots and Ragged Robins, aka Bachelor's Buttons or Corn Flowers.   We used to have one yard that was full of them, all over the place and in a rainbow of colors from wine to blue to white, pale pink. etc.   They grew there with Larkspur that also came in many colors.  Both species reseeded each year and it was a beautiful sight to see.  Wish I had them growing here, but not enough sunlight due to all the big trees we have.

@possummink   How did it ever get inside, I wonder.  Maybe the top was left off for a while, lol.

I was hoping the squirrel in the feeder was photoshopped.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

I don't know if it was photoshopped or not,  I do know that they can squeeze into very small places as we have a barn shaped feeder my brother makd out of redwood and on both sides glass goes all the way up to the top with maybe 2 or 3 inche at the very most between the sloped roof of the feeder and the glass sides.  Many squirrels have been caught in that feeder and if you give them time,  they manage to get out.

Sneaky and determined critters, at least here in my yard.

Re: We're all a little Irish in the March 2019 Bird's Nest

Beautiful Cardinals and I cracked up looking at the picture of Conrad - very dignified. Did not rain during the day yesterday and I do not believe it rained last night. I hear the worst storm we have had this year is headed our way tonight - snow down to 4000 feet. That is low for snow. Just wish we could get back our Normal March weather. Am really tired of freezing.

Birds were chattering yesterday and I would suspect their feeders will need attention today. They have sure slowed down a bit. I cannot figure those critters out any more - they are developing strange rules of behavior. Use to be so easy to figure them out - not so these days.

Hope all have a very good day.
