I'm wondering if this is adults, since the kids are still in school. Which brings me to this question:
Did you ever take tap, ballet, or any other type of dance lessons? For how long and did you get to perform in front of an audience?
Ever been a Rockette? Wow can't imagine that one!!!

Always wanted to take them as a young girl, but mother would not let me. After I got married at 20, I signed up for ballet, tap, and jazz at an adult dance school. The teacher asked me if I ever took lessons as a child because of the way I was able to hold the poses. I told her no and she was surprised. Said I had a natural form for a dancer. I did perform on stage twice.

I did ballet, tap, jazz, modern dance through childhood and adulthood....I became interested in ballroom dance as did my husband after we married....we took almost every type of dance class, went on to competitive ballroom and exhibition dance....as enjoyment not a profession but I have taught some basic ballroom and ballet classes to adults and children

I adore dancing, my dh does not. Go figure.
Anyway, I took tap in grade school and absolutely loved it. We did a recital to a song that went "the red, red robin goes bob, bob, bobbing along". Can still recall that and it was in 1956. I took ballet in community college after my art class when both kids got in school. I was a mess at that.

Dancing has always come naturally to me, but it didn't matter because I was too shy and embarrassed to show off my talent as a youngster.

I detested dance class - my folks had already paid for the year so the teacher let me take baton twirling instead.I liked it much better. Then in high school I was able to be one of my schools 4 majorettes which I was proud of. I probbly have marched 1000 miles up & down the mountainsides of Pittsburgh. My parents were at every event or parade where I performed - esp. my Dad. Usually my Grandparents too. This was one thing that really made High school a great time for me. My dad was deaf & even though he was able to speak he had learned sign so when I would see him as I was marching he would sign that he loved me or I was doing well - something like that.

Never took lessons (couldn't afford them as a kid), but as a teenager I dreamed of being a go go dancer. Ahhhh!! White patent leather go go boots, red dress with fring that swings....and in a cage!
Met my husband at a dance. We won every dance contest together. That was our 'thing', dancing. But lessons, no, my daughter took all dance classes for 13 years.

@Annabellethecat66 I'm sitting here with a grin on my face envisioning you in a cage doing the "thang". I bet you would've starred in the show. I recalled after I wrote my first response that since my dad was in the service there were always parties of some sort going on. Polka was a hot ticket. My mom was too bashful to get on the floor with dad, so he always grabbed me and off we went. Just kinda' came naturally.
