Put our package in the mailbox BUT... on the computer told us that it (the package) had been handed to the resident and I HAD SIGNED FOR IT! I never signed for anything.

How would the driver know who you are or that the other person isn't you?
Just call Amazon and tell them. They take care of it and send you a new item.

@CalminHeart The driver put the pkg in the mailbox....didn't "hand it" to any living person.

A simple click of the wrong button on their screen. Nothing nefarious.

What is the big deal then? The driver clicked the wrong response by accident. Everyone makes mistakes. Give the driver some grace.

We did call. They were very pleasant about it all. Still we were lied to.

@Tori3569 Yeah...but careless. I have looked for my "package" all over the neighborhood, at night, with a flashlight. Kinda dangerous...only to find it the next day in my mailbox... di
Edited to add: My mailbox is NOT at home. I have to drive there. If I wanted to get in the car, I would have gone to the store in the first place.

Yes, it's careless and has happened to me many, many times, but they have a stressful job, so things happen. My nephew who lives in Cali did Amazon deliveries for a few months and found it incredibly stressful due to deadlines.
