Re: WHAT TIME DO YOU GO TO BED?

We go to bed around midnight or so. DH has to get up to go to work so he usually gets 6-7 hrs sleep. I don't get up until I wake up which is usually around 8 or so but sometimes not until 10. No nap for me. If I did that I would not be able to sleep at night. I sleep pretty good most nights except having to get up at least once to run to the bathroom. LOL!!!

My husband comes home around 7 pm so we need time together. We have always watched late night television. Nothing has changed except I am more tired due to heart issues. I rarely nap because I won't allow myself. I sleep well through the night though.

So bedtime is around midnight and I get up at 6 for an insulin injection and go back to sleep until around nine most days.

Re: WHAT TIME DO YOU GO TO BED?

I get about 8 hrs of sleep every night - always have. I don't get up during the night at all and don't nap during the day. I'm usually up by 6:30.

I think I need more sleep. I’m in bed by 10...reading or making a “to do” list for next day or 10 minute entry in journal. Lights out at 10:30. I’m up at 5:45-6 to begin my day...just habit. Now, most days, I find by 3PM, I’m wiped out and head for an hour nap.

Do we need more sleep as we get older?

Apparently DH and I follow close to your schedule. We “nap” in our recliners and have cereal or lunch leftovers for dinner. We eat light whatever it is.

When dinner is over.  I'm tired and sometimes my body parts give out.  I may go put my feet up and rest and other times, I just fall asleep. I rise very early and don't nap. It's easy, no drop in visitors and small family now.  It's just easy,  I can watch movies or whatever and he can watch sports.  Sometimes, I wake up for 2-3 hours at a stretch.

I really need to work on going to bed and getting up at the same time every day as it is a good health habit. Having been a nurse for 40 years working various shifts I am not good about it.

Re: WHAT TIME DO YOU GO TO BED?

I always listen to the 11pm news.  If I'm really tired, sometimes I'll get the next day's temp off of the weather channel.  Then I press something for the next day.  I sleep about 7 hours when I'm working.

I can stay up and check on the bloggers I follow if I don't have to open.

If I'm left to follow my inner clock, I'll sleep 9 hours.

Re: WHAT TIME DO YOU GO TO BED?

I go to bed at midnight and get up by 9:30.   I never sleep during the day unless I’m sick.

Since retiring, my husband has ruined his sleep habits with frequent naps.    He never goes to bed before 1:00 a.m., and is up at 6.  (Most nights he’s up at least once to the bathroom).    By 8:30 a.m. he’s asleep in the recliner.   We watch game shows from 10-12, catch local news at noon, and sometime between 1-3 p.m., he’s nodded off again.    We eat supper around 4:30 and he’s usually asleep by 6:30.   It’s also not unusual for him to nod off again around 10 p.m.    Medication for diabetic neuropathy plays a big part in his daily naps, but he actually sleeps better in the recliner than he does in the bed with his C-pap.
