I do make a contribution,  aka volunteer

Monthly I make cards and they are part of a program for cancer patients and

they are included in shipped care packages

I pray over each and know that they are a bright spot for someone healing

Its an organization called PHILS FRIENDS and they  serve the US

@smoochy

Currently and have for a few years volunteer with the Denver Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

We have once a month jewelry (all donated jewelry) sales and all procceeds goes to the Barbara Davis Foundation for research for a cure for Type 1.  Funds are also available for those families that can't afford insulin.

These kids are brave and they need support.

Yes, volunteering has been a way of life for us.  When the kids were growing up I was an in class volunteer at their school.  Every Wednesday. Whatever the teacher wanted done I would do.  We volunteered on school committees doing fundraisers for the all night alcohol and drug free party on graduation night.  A house and land by the river was donated to our town. It needed repairs. Townspeople volunteered fixing it up.  We volunteer with fundraising for Foster kids that are aging out of the system.  Monies go to whatever they may need. Groceries, gas, rent, etc.

Can goods drives, Land Trusts trail clean up along with beach clean ups.

We love helping others, making it a bit easier for people.   To whom much is given...

Re: Volunteer work

[ Edited ]

For the past twelve years, I have been a weekly volunteer at my local food bank. Unfortunately, the number of people we feed has more than tripled since the first of the year.

I haven't done any volunteer work. What I was most disappointed about was that a horse rescue........down the street from me........no signs......off the road.......was asking for volunteers a year ago.  At that point my health concerns would not allow me to do it.

If I had only found out sooner.  I think the rescue must have been the best kept secret in this neighborhood of nosey, gossipy neighbors.

I volunteer at a Presidential Library and Museum. I've been doing it for 8 years. I'm a Docent (tour guide), I greet our visitors when they enter the museum, and I help with the educational programs offered to school children. I enjoy meeting people from all over the US and throughout the world.

Most of my volunteer work has been with the local Food Pantries.  I work servicing clients every other week and for many years picked up groceries and stocked the inventory.

Also, love working with the Angel Tree program at Christmas.  Many ways to help out there, from shopping to wrapping, etc.

In the past have volunteered at the school, mobile food giveaways, soup kitchen.  There is always a place to help out.
