Re: Very worst fear...........

My hubby came in the house

last week holding a little garter snake he found in the grass. Of course it started with, hey honey look what I found. Whelp, I turned around thinking he found a small treasure or something only to be greeted by the little snake wiggling in his hands. ca you say scream? LOL OH MY GOSH. He apologized afterwards, said he didn't think it'd have that reaction!

@Luvsmyfam,

In my mother's house I put cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil that you get in the grocery store by spices and I think it worked. It repels them and they don't like it.

Her peanut butter traps set up by her neighbor never worked and I was horrified. They are so cruel.

I once hired a professional that was supposed to capture it humanely but he made a hole in my wall and then put a camera thing in and tried to get it. The poor mouse died of fright.

There are many other natural ways to humanely get rid of them. More on google.-pepper and cloves. Cloves also get rid of the unmentionables (roaches).

I like the humane trap suggestion too that @ECBG showed.

Instead of being freaked out think of Disney's cute little mice in "Cinderelly"Heart

Re: Very worst fear...........

Those little boogers can flatten themselves down and get through a very small opening.  Several years ago I had Minnie squeeze through the air vent grate on the side of my house and get in the crawl space.  Then she had babies.  I had no idea they were there until I opened the small door leading to the crawl space.  Then they had access to the whole house.  One morning I opened a cabinet to get something out and this little mouse was swinging on the shelf like a trapeze artist.  I had to go on a seek and destroy mission and trapped about 10.  One of them had a litter or babies in the cabinet inside the pressure cooker that were only a day or two old.  What a nightmare that was.  I put window screen over the vent but they chewed right through that.  Next I put a stainless steele screen and that works.  It took me a week to clean everything in the basement.

Re: Very worst fear...........

Mice take soft nest materials1. WHEN WE TRAVEL AROUND YOUR HOUSE AT NIGHT, WE PEE EVERYWHERE WE GO.

Mice aren’t much for established toilet stops. They pee and poop all the time, whenever and wherever they feel the urge. They tend to dribble urine as they move along. Mice will pee next to, or even in, their own nests. One way that exterminators check for rodent infestations is to use a black light since mouse urine glows under ultraviolet light. Besides the pee, a single mouse will leave about 70 droppings a day, randomly along its travel route.

Accumulations of mouse droppings and urine can contain allergens and disease particles which can become airborne and can be inhaled when a nesting site is cleaned or disturbed.

@Scooby Doo ... I'm laughing out loud that you said you opened a cabinet and a little mouse was "swinging on the shelf like a trapeze artist." Now that's funny!! 😂

Killing mice caught in my home is the humane thing to do for humans.

Re: Very worst fear...........

I scream if I see one of the little varmints. Knew a lady who was sitting on the floor one Christmas morning with her family opening presents. A mouse darted out from under the tree and straight up her pajama leg. I would have fainted dead away!

You made me laugh out loud - literally! This has got to be one of my favorite replies ever.  (I'm this way about the BIG roaches that live down here.)
