@ECBG ... I've never seen those before! I like the idea and I'll see if Home Depot has them. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh! I didn't see you bought them at Amazon. Off I go to Amazon!

Too see through for me, humane or not.  I don't want to see it.

Re: Very worst fear...........

I'm sure the lil mouse is more terrified of you than you are of it.  He was just looking for a warm spot.

Sorry you're having this problem.  I would notify your landlord.  It really is their issue. Cat Happy

Re: Very worst fear...........

My husband got these packs of all natural stuff and they were supposed to leave on their own.  Well that didn't work.  I had to get brave because he won't kill any creatures.

He would go for those catch  and release traps and take to the park.

Re: Very worst fear...........

You should call an Exterminator.   They will check your home for openings where these little critters can come in.   I had a terrible problem in my townhouse in NY (and living on a golf course) and as soon as the exterminator came and set traps and plugged up the holes, I was good to go.   Like you, I can't stand them so I had to do something.   Traps will get rid of the ones inside but you need to also plug up the holes where they are coming in - especially now that the weather is getting colder.   P.S.  They also multiply like crazy....you need to stop all of that.  Good luck!!

Re: Very worst fear...........

@ECBG  These are HUMANE traps.  These are to catch the mice in a way that doesn't kill them or harm them.  You are not supposed to throw the whole thing in the garbage with the mouse contained inside.  Please don't.  That seems like a terrible way for them to die.  Someone should take the trap(s) and drive a ways away from your house and release the mice back outside,

I think the worst part of seeing just ONE mouse is that there could be more than that one. When you see it run across the floor, or wherever, that might not be the same one you saw before. That's what is concerning. You just don't know.

If you have one you most likely have more.  I caught one in the house and 6 in the garage and nothing since.  Moved the bird feed to outside metal container and the pop can bin I got rid of and no longer save to take to Can Shed.  Donated what I had to school can drive and now I just recyle and put out each week.    Anything that would attract mice I have gotten rid of and cleaned up.

Well Q friends call me what you want, but my very biggest fear is here. I have a mouse in my home, and am so very terrified, jumpy, nervous, and scream my bloody head off when I see it. I have several traps set(with peanutbutter) and constantly on guard.I have had this fear since I was little.I also have plugged in a silent sound machine that I bought a few yrs back at HSN.Whether this helps, who knows, but I will try anything.

Any suggestions of getting rid of this mouse will be greatly appreciated

@Luvsmyfam

Not sure if you're really serious .... did you have a bad experience with a mouse in childhood?

What do you think actually triggers it?

It's smaller than you, so it's not like you had an alligator or bear sneak (snuck?) into your home.

If you don't want to call an exterminator, are there any male neighbors you can call?

Why a MALE neighbor ?

Re: Very worst fear...........

@Luvsmyfam @Not sure if anyone suggested this, but call your landlord and have him send an exterminator.  They can treat the areas, put down traps, look for areas where mice can enter and plug them up with steel wool, etc.  It won't eliminate the problem all together, but it will certainly help.

That is the only way I would get them if I threw them in the garbage.....I really wouldn't

worry about how they died just that they did die ! Lots of diseases come from mice and I certainly wouldn't worry about getting them to safety......

@Roscoe the Rascal   Respect for your husband, I would do and have done the same but with a squirrel ....relocated to a park after trapping in a humane container..
