I can't stand anything that darts. Mouse or snake.
You had several threads about mice that got into your basement that you kept as pets??????
Very strange...
@Bri369 Yes, now I remember that! It was such a lovely story.
Was that the OP ? If it was, what a JOKE !

I agree with @NYCLatinaMe . The absolute most important thing to do is to find where they are getting in and seal the hole. It's a hard, time consuming job but it is necessary to stop the problem. You can set traps all day long, catch and discard mice, but if you don't seal where they're coming in, you'll continue to have problems.

Please don't use any poison type things to get rid of mice. People throw the dead poisoned mouse outside and owls and hawks eat it and many die or get very sick.

@Danky2 ... They're talking about @ECBG. She didn't see the remark because she wasn't addressed. Now she'll see it.

The cat was so proud of catching mice he would bring them in the house to show off. Obviously he was a outdoor cat.
You missed the point - mice will not come inside if they smell a cat indoors.
I have never had a mouse problem, always had cats!
@Ronettes I've had cats.....and mice.
Very true. We only had the mice once. Never came back. My cat still catches them outside. She is as I quote Lewis Carroll "She's a capital mouser." A cat is very handy to have even if you don't like them.

True Story..funny but not funny.
A baby squirrel got into my family room..probably while DH had all the doors open..I live in the "woods"..He saw it..my cats didn't move..needless to say I freaked out.
I started the vacuum and it ran so fast..It committed suicide..It jumped into the toilet and drowned! I found it about 2 hours later and screamed like it was attacking me..
We get field mice once in awhile..My "old ladies" are getting really old sometimes they catch it sometimes not.
BTW..the field mice love dry cat food!

last week holding a little garter snake he found in the grass. Of course it started with, hey honey look what I found. Whelp, I turned around thinking he found a small treasure or something only to be greeted by the little snake wiggling in his hands. ca you say scream? LOL OH MY GOSH. He apologized afterwards, said he didn't think it'd have that reaction!
Serves him right, I'd probably have done the same thing. Made me laugh!!

We had squirrels get in the attic. We got it repaired. My husband trapped them and took them over the river. If we had let them go on my side of the river, they would have gotten back. We dropped them off in the state park. The other wildlife that got in were birds (2 of them) They simply flew in when the door was open. We got them trapped in one room and I opened the window.
