YES. I have been mildly near-sighted since puberty, and now wear no-line trifocals. I do not need them to watch tv or drive, but do need them to read. I'm 71 and read a lot, so wear my glasses most of the time. I actually see better without them. I do have cataracts which I am having removed soon.

This happened to me. I had worn contacts, only one in my right eye for many years, when I noticed that I was forgetting to place my contact in place. When I had my eye exam, my test revealed that my eyes had improved. I did not need the correction that I had for many years. So for several years I did not wear my contact. I chose contacts over wearing glasses. After a while, my eyes returned to needing correction again, at the same value before the improvement. My Dr said this happens occasionally to people.

@Mothertrucker. Yes, it's quite common. A film grows over the eye impeding vision. Your doctor can remove it with a laser. It takes about 5 minutes...no pain or big deal. I had it develop several months after my cataract surgery. You need to go for an eye exam.

@lbwshop. I cannot read worth a darn with either pair of my prescription lenses. My doctor said it's perfectly okay to use cheap readers if they work better for you. Joy Mangano, here I come!

Thank you @Kachina624- It got so bad so fast, and it has been over 6 years since my surgery, so I didnt think it COULD be that, but you are right, I went in the next day and you are correct! I am going in on Tuesday to have it lasered..Thank you very much !
