Since I can't edit the title of HouseCat's thread, here is an update:
Hi, I was in the home depot when I received a text from Karen aka HouseCat. She asked me to pass this on:
She's back at the hospital and Dad is out of the hallway, resting comfortably. Although he is not in a room yet, he is resting in a more private place than is considerably less worrisome to Karen than the hall was last night.

Thanks for sharing the information. I was hoping she would update us with good news. Taking care of parents definitely is tough.

Glad he's in a room.
Prayers for all...

I really don't know who is who on the board but read that last night and felt so bad for this lady. Her 92yr Dad and he wanted her home to be with her Mom. I felt so bad for her, she wanted to be with him. So happy he is in a room & I know he will do well and be home soon. What a stressful situation she was in.

Thanks for posting the update for me, Bernie :-)
I felt it necessary since I read all those lovely comments this morning on my other thread. It was a looooong loooooong day today finally settling down at 11:14. It was a disturbing day, because although he was moved last night into a more private area, it was still the ER. The staff was overwhelmed with patients and it became clear today that he was not being taken care of. I brought Mom to see him tonight and it was very sweet, but very sad to see how they'd missed each other. He's 92 and she's 91 and this April is their 63rd anniversary. Mom has dementia, but even she noticed that he seems to have declined since yesterday. I couldn't find an available nurse or CNA to help clean him up and I was expecting that I'd have to bring Mom home and go back to spend the night there caring for him. It was just about this time that a MIRACLE happened. Someone came to tell us that a room became available. They moved him immediately to a semi private room with another gentleman. I'm not sure why, but the CNA was assigned to that room all night, so when I left I was confident that he was in good hands.
I'm not sure what the next few days will bring. His doctor was there last night and this morning - she was encouraged that his "numbers were improving", but as the day progressed, he looked worse.
Thanks for the encouragement on the other thread and thanks for listening.
It means a lot.

house_cat,
I am very glad to see an update on your dad, and happy that he now is in a room. Understand spending most of a day in a hospital from being the patient, and the care taker many times.
My thoughts are with your father/mother and yourself. Take care of yourself,
hckynut(john)

Thank G-d he's in a room with a dedicated nurse tech and nurse team. He'll get good care and be back in good form in no time I hope.
